For, I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last of all, like men sentenced to death. For we are made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You have honor, but we have dishonor. Even to this present hour we hunger, thirst, are naked, are beaten, and have no certain dwelling place. We toil, working with our own hands. When people curse us, we bless. Brothers, be imitators together of me, and note those who walk this way, even as you have us for an example.
For you know how you ought to imitate us. For we didn't behave ourselves rebelliously among you, neither did we eat bread from anyone's hand without paying for it, but in labor and travail worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you; not because we don't have the right, but to make ourselves an example to you, that you should imitate us.
But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.
Instruct a wise man, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

The heart of the discerning gets knowledge. The ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
