And as they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a demon. And when the demon was cast out, the dumb man spoke; and the multitude marvelled, saying, Such a thing has never been seen in Israel.
Then was brought unto him one possessed with a demon, blind, and dumb, and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spoke and saw. And all the people were amazed and said, Is not this the son of David?
And the LORD said unto him, Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the dumb or the deaf or the seeing or the blind? Am not I the LORD? Now therefore go and I will be with thy mouth and teach thee what thou shalt say.
And, behold, thou shalt be dumb and not able to speak until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou didst not believe my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.
Then Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither up until now, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy slave; but I am slow of speech and of a slow tongue.
And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spoke blessing God.
and I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth that thou shalt be dumb and shalt not be to them a reprover; for they are a rebellious house.
Ye know that when ye were Gentiles, ye went, even as ye were led, unto the dumb idols.
But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that swears by him shall be praised; for the mouth of those that speak lies shall be stopped.
The righteous shall see it and rejoice, and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

But I, as a deaf man, that heard not, and as a dumb man that did not open his mouth. Thus I was as a man that does not hear, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

I was dumb with silence; I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.
