Then he said to them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses, and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to what he hath done, whether good or bad.

For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

He that saith he abideth in him, ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification.

These things I write to thee, hoping to come to thee shortly: But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather to godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable to all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they gender contentions. And the servant of the Lord must not contend; but be gentle to all men, apt to teach, patient,
