But they did not understand what he said, and they were afraid to ask him what he meant.
But they did not understand this saying ??indeed it was kept a secret from them, to prevent them from fathoming it ??and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
No one could make any answer to him, and from that day no one ventured to put another question to him.
Jesus noted his intelligent answer and said to him, "You are not far off the Realm of God." After that no one ventured to put any more questions to him.

Now we are sure you know everything, and need no one to put questions to you. This makes us believe you have come forth from God."
Jesus said, "Come and breakfast." (Not one of the disciples dared to ask him who he was; they knew it was the Lord.)
Eat any food that has been sold in the market, instead of letting scruples of conscience oblige you to ask any questions about it;
When an unbeliever invites you to dinner and you agree to go, eat whatever is put before you, instead of letting scruples of conscience induce you to ask any questions about it.
