“Look, everyone who uses proverbs will say this proverb about you:
Like mother, like daughter.

Then He said to them, “No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me: ‘Doctor, heal yourself. So all we’ve heard that took place in Capernaum, do here in Your hometown also.’”
It has happened to them according to the true proverb: A dog returns to its own vomit, and, “a sow, after washing itself, wallows in the mud.”
For in this case the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’
Therefore say to them: This is what the Lord God says: I will put a stop to this proverb, and they will not use it again in Israel. But say to them: The days draw near, as well as the fulfillment of every vision.
As I live”—this is the declaration of the Lord God—“you will no longer use this proverb in Israel.
