Haughty eyes and a proud heart -- the agricultural product of the wicked is sin.

But as it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

adultery, greed, evil, deceit, debauchery, envy, slander, pride, and folly. All these evils come from within and defile a person."

They are filled with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice. They are rife with envy, murder, strife, deceit, hostility. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, contrivers of all sorts of evil, disobedient to parents,

For I am afraid that somehow when I come I will not find you what I wish, and you will find me not what you wish. I am afraid that somehow there may be quarreling, jealousy, intense anger, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder.

He must not be a recent convert or he may become arrogant and fall into the punishment that the devil will exact.

He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, and as a result he takes his seat in God's temple, displaying himself as God.

The Lord abhors every arrogant person; rest assured that they will not go unpunished.

Do not be wise in your own estimation; fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

There are six things that the Lord hates, even seven things that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

Do not honor yourself before the king, and do not stand in the place of great men; for it is better for him to say to you, "Come up here," than to put you lower before a prince, whom your eyes have seen.

Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Do not boast about tomorrow; for you do not know what a day may bring forth.

A person's pride will bring him low, but one who has a lowly spirit will gain honor.

You reprimand arrogant people. Those who stray from your commands are doomed.

I will break your strong pride and make your sky like iron and your land like bronze.

Don't keep speaking so arrogantly, letting proud talk come out of your mouth! For the Lord is a God who knows; he evaluates what people do.

People lie to one another; they flatter and deceive. May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts!

The Lord says, "Wise people should not boast that they are wise. Powerful people should not boast that they are powerful. Rich people should not boast that they are rich. If people want to boast, they should boast about this: They should boast that they understand and know me. They should boast that they know and understand that I, the Lord, act out of faithfulness, fairness, and justice in the earth and that I desire people to do these things," says the Lord.

Arrogant people cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who behave wickedly.

How blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord and does not seek help from the proud or from liars!

Though the Lord is exalted, he takes note of the lowly, and recognizes the proud from far away.

Those who think they are wise are as good as dead, those who think they possess understanding.

Then I said to the people of Judah, "Listen and pay attention! Do not be arrogant! For the Lord has spoken. Show the Lord your God the respect that is due him. Do it before he brings the darkness of disaster. Do it before you stumble into distress like a traveler on the mountains at twilight. Do it before he turns the light of deliverance you hope for into the darkness and gloom of exile. But if you will not pay attention to this warning, I will weep alone because of your arrogant pride. I will weep bitterly and my eyes will overflow with tears because you, the Lord's flock, will be carried into exile."

And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.

So let the one who thinks he is standing be careful that he does not fall.

In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

But he gives greater grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but he gives grace to the humble."

Although he is scornful to arrogant scoffers, yet he shows favor to the humble.

Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded! By what principle? Of works? No, but by the principle of faith!

Jesus also told this parable to some who were confident that they were righteous and looked down on everyone else. "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like this: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other people: extortionists, unrighteous people, adulterers -- or even like this tax collector.read more.
I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.' The tax collector, however, stood far off and would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, be merciful to me, sinner that I am!' I tell you that this man went down to his home justified rather than the Pharisee. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."

For if Abraham was declared righteous by the works of the law, he has something to boast about -- but not before God. For what does the scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."

Now if some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among them and participated in the richness of the olive root, do not boast over the branches. But if you boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. Then you will say, "The branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in."read more.
Granted! They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but fear!

Think about the circumstances of your call, brothers and sisters. Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position. But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong. For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast.

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; I hate arrogant pride and the evil way and perverse utterances.

I will destroy anyone who slanders his neighbor in secret. I will not tolerate anyone who has a cocky demeanor and an arrogant attitude.
