Then John's disciples went and removed the body and buried it, and came and informed Jesus. Upon receiving these tidings, Jesus went away by boat to an uninhabited and secluded district; but the people heard of it and followed Him in crowds from the towns by land.

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and asked Him, "Why could not we expel the demon?"

After the return of Jesus to the house His disciples asked Him privately, "How is it that we could not expel the spirit?"

Afterwards He was on the Mount of Olives and was seated there when the disciples came to Him, apart from the others, and said, "Tell us when this will be; and what will be the sign of your Coming and of the Close of the Age?"

He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite to the Temple, when Peter, James, John, and Andrew, apart from the others asked Him,

And He turned towards His disciples and said to them apart, "Blessed are the eyes which see what you see!

I went up in obedience to a revelation of God's will; and I explained to them the Good News which I proclaim among the Gentiles. To the leaders of the Church this explanation was made in private, lest by any means I should be running, or should already have run, in vain.

One day when He was praying by Himself the disciples were present; and He asked them, "Who do the people say that I am?"

"And when praying, you must not be like the hypocrites. They are fond of standing and praying in the synagogues or at the corners of the wider streets, in order that men may see them. I solemnly tell you that they already have their reward. But you, whenever you pray, go into your own room and shut the door: then pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father--He who sees in secret--will recompense you.

Immediately afterwards He made the disciples go on board the boat and cross to the opposite shore, leaving Him to dismiss the people. When He had done this, He climbed the hill to pray in solitude. Night came on, and he was there alone.

On going out, He proceeded as usual to the Mount of Olives, and His disciples followed Him. But when He arrived at the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not come into temptation." But He Himself withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed repeatedly, saying,read more.
"Father, if it be Thy will, take this cup away from me; yet not my will but Thine be done!"

About that time He went out on one occasion into the hill country to pray; and He remained all night in prayer to God.
