I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brothers that they would go before to you, and arrange ahead of time the generous gift that you promised before, that the same might be ready as a matter of generosity, and not of greediness.

The Lord's servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient,

looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it;

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.

Don't grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won't be judged. Behold, the judge stands at the door.

Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.

A brother offended is more difficult than a fortified city; and disputes are like the bars of a castle.

He who covers an offense promotes love; but he who repeats a matter separates best friends.

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.

Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that.read more.
But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, "I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you."
