Now, Lord, thou dost let thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word, for my eyes have seen thy salvation,

If, however, I be an offender, and have done any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die. But if the things of which these men accuse me are nothing, no one can deliver me to them. I appeal to Caesar.

Peter said to him: Though it should be necessary for me to die with thee, I will not deny thee. In like manner said all the disciples.
