Now Herod was very glad to see Jesus, because he had been wanting to see him for a long time on account of what he had heard about him. He was also hoping to see some sign done by him.

Then the Jewish leaders asked him, "What sign can you show us as authority for doing these things?"

Jesus told him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe."

So they asked him, "What sign are you going to do so that we may see it and believe in you? What actions are you performing?
