He said: "Go away, the little girl is not dead; she is asleep." They began to laugh at him;

"Why this confusion and weeping?" he said on entering. "The little child is not dead; she is asleep."

And every one was weeping and mourning for her. "Do not weep," Jesus said, "she is not dead; she is asleep." They began to laugh at him, for they knew that she was dead.

Falling on his knees, he called out loudly: "Lord! do not charge them with this sin;" and with these words he fell asleep.

For, as we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that God will bring, with Jesus, those who through him have passed to their rest.
