They will not change their deeds to turn unto their God: for the spirit of harlotry is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.

My people ask counsel of their idols of wood, and their staff advises unto them: for the spirit of harlotry has caused them to err, and they have played the harlot against their God.

Thus will I make your lewdness to cease from you, and your harlotry brought from the land of Egypt: so that you shall not lift up your eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt anymore.

Now let them put away their harlotry, and the dead bodies of their kings, far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them forever.
