9 Bible Verses about Worldly Pleasures, Leads To

A man of want [is] he who loves pleasure; he who loves wine and oil will not become rich.

But the one who lives for sensual pleasure is dead [even though she] lives.

Come now, you rich people, weep [and] cry aloud over the miseries that are coming upon you!

And they say to God, 'Turn away from us, for we do not desire to know your ways. Who [is] Shaddai that we should serve him, or what would we benefit when we plead with him?'

And [there] will be lyre and harp, tambourine and flute, and wine [at] their feasts, but they do not look at the deeds of Yahweh, and they do not see the work of his hands.

Alas [for] those being at ease in Zion, and those who feel secure on Mount Samaria, the notables of the best of the nations! The house of Israel resorts to them. Cross over [to] Calneh and see, and go from there [to] Hamath Rabbah and go down [to] Gath of the Philistines. [Are] you better than these kingdoms, or is their territory greater than your territory? Even in laughter, a heart may be sad, and the end of joy [may be] grief.

{Then when} the days of the feast had run their course, {Job would send}, and he would sanctify them.
