If the world hate you, ye know it hated me, before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love its own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? Or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? Or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick or in prison, and came to thee? And the king shall answer and say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye did it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye did it to me.
And whosoever shall offend one of the little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
Then said he to the disciples, It is impossible but offences will come; but wo to him through whom they come.
And falling to the earth, he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. It is hard for thee, to kick against the goads.
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake; but he that endureth to the end, he shall be saved.

But all these things will they do to you, for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I am not come to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance with his father, and the daughter with her mother, and the daughter-in-law with her mother-in-law. And the foes of a man shall be they of his own houshold.
Suppose ye that I am come to send peace upon earth? I tell you, Nay, but rather division. For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
But the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child; and children shall rise up against their parents, and kill them.
Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son: and children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
And having called them, they charged them, Not to speak at all, nor teach in the name of Jesus.
Did not we strictly command you, Not to teach in this name? And lo, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and would bring the blood of this man upon us.
But Saul made havock of the church, entring into every house, and haling men and women, committed them to prison.
But Saul still breathing threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, going to the high priest, Desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, he might bring both men and women bound to Jerusalem.
But there were false prophets also among the people, as there shall likewise be false teachers among you, who will privily bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right-hand of God. Then they cried with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed upon him with one accord, And casting him out of the city, stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man, whose name was Saul.read more.
And they stoned Stephen, invoking and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And kneeling down, he cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And having said this, he fell asleep: And Saul was consenting to his death.
About that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to afflict a certain of the church. And he slew James, the brother of John, with the sword.
I indeed thought myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth: Which also I did in Jerusalem: and having received authority from the chief priests, I shut up many of the saints in prisons, and when they were killed, I gave my vote against them.
And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that had been slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you: That ye may be the children of your Father who is in heaven; for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.
But I say to you that hear, Love your enemies; do good to them that hate you, Bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you. And to him that smiteth thee on the cheek, offer also the other: and him that taketh away thy cloke, forbid not to take thy coat also.
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment and cast lots.

Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing, but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are called to this, to inherit a blessing.
And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.read more.

But a certain Samaritan journeying, came where he was, and seeing him, was moved with tender compassion, And going to him, bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and setting him on his own beast, he brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow departing, he took out two pieces of money, and gave them to the host, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, as I come back I will repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was the neighbour to him that fell among the robbers? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus to him, Go and do thou likewise.
for your adversary the devil, walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour:
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he might sift you as wheat.
But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the preaching might be fully known, even that all nations might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom; to whom be the glory for ever, and ever.
Whom resist, stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the throwing down of strong-holds.)
Finally, brethren, be strong through the Lord, and through the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the world, of the darkness of this age, against wicked spirits in heavenly places.read more.
Wherefore take to you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, And having your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. I counsel therefore the younger women to marry, bear children, guide the family, give no occasion of reproach to the adversary. For some are already turned aside after Satan.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;
Submit yourselves, therefore, to God: resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
I do not pray, that thou wouldest take them out of the world, but that thou wouldest keep them from the evil one.
And be not afraid of them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather be afraid of him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall to the ground without your Father. Yea, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.read more.
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men,
But I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not: and when thou art returned, strengthen thy brethren.
Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge will render me in that day, and not to me only, but to all them likewise that have loved his appearing.
The last enemy that is destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet.
But is now made manifest, by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
And he shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall sorrow, or crying, or pain, be any more; because the former things are gone away.
