'Boasting' in the Bible
For our boasting is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and sincerity before God, (not in fleshly wisdom but in God's grace,) we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly towards you.
just as you have also understood us in part, that we are your reason for boasting, just as you [are] also ours in the day of our Lord Jesus.
For we do not again commend ourselves to you, but we are giving to you occasion of boast in our behalf, that ye may have such with those boasting in countenance, and not in heart.
Great is my confidence in you; great is my boasting on your behalf I am filled with comfort; I am overflowing with joy in all our affliction.
For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.
Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.

so that we may preach the gospel to the regions beyond you, not boasting about what has already been done in someone else's area [of ministry].
and he who is boasting -- in the Lord let him boast;
I wish you could have borne with a little foolish boasting on my part. Nay, do bear with me.
As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
