'Chewing' in the Bible

" '[With regard] to any animal that has a divided hoof but does not split the hoof, or does not have a cud [for] chewing--they [are] unclean for you; anyone who touches them shall become unclean.

But even as they were chewing the meat and before they had swallowed it, the LORD became very angry with the people and struck them with a disastrous plague.

Only these you may not eat from {those chewing the cud} and from {those having a division of the hoof}: the camel and the hare and the coney, because {they chew the cud}, but they [do] not divide the hoof; they are [therefore] unclean for you.
