“For He has had regard for the humble state of His bondslave;For behold, from this time on all generations will count me blessed.
Wherefore neither did I count myself worthy to come to thee. But say by a word and my servant shall be healed.
'For who of you, willing to build a tower, doth not first, having sat down, count the expence, whether he have the things for completing?
Not only is there danger that this trade of ours will be discredited, but also that the [magnificent] temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited, and that she whom all Asia and the world worship will even be dethroned and lose her glorious magnificence.”
