'Died' in the Bible
He stayed there until Herod died. In this way what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet was fulfilled: "I called my Son out of Egypt."
After Herod died, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
saying, 'Having risen, take the child and his mother, and be going to the land of Israel, for they have died -- those seeking the life of the child.'
and he saith to them, 'Go.' And having come forth, they went to the herd of the swine, and lo, the whole herd of the swine rushed down the steep, to the sea, and died in the waters,
While Jesus was telling them these things, an official came up and fell down before him. "My daughter has just died," he said. "But come and lay your hand on her, and she will live."
he said, "Go away! The young lady hasn't died, but is sleeping." But they ridiculed him with laughter.
Now there were seven brothers among us. The first got married and died. Having no offspring, he left his wife to his brother.
The second also [died childless], and the third, down to the seventh.
And last of all the woman died also.
Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice again and died.
tombs were opened, and many saints who had died were brought back to life.
And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.
While he was yet speaking, they come from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying, Thy daughter has died, why troublest thou the teacher any further?
And entering in he says to them, Why do ye make a tumult and weep? the child has not died, but sleeps.
And it came out, screaming and convulsing [him] greatly, and he became as if [he were] dead, so that most [of them] said, "He has died!"
“Teacher, Moses wrote for us [a law] that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but leaves no child, his brother is to marry the widow and raise up children for his brother.
There were seven brothers. The first one married and died without having children.
And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.
Now when the centurion, who stood in front of him, saw how he died, he said, "Truly this man was God's Son!"
Pilate was surprised that He was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him whether He had already died.
As he approached the entrance to the city, a man who had died was being carried out. He was his mother's only son, and she was a widow. A large crowd from the city was with her.
They came and woke him, saying, "Master, Master, we are about to die!" So he got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves; they died down, and it was calm.
While he is yet speaking, there doth come a certain one from the chief of the synagogue's house, saying to him -- 'Thy daughter hath died, harass not the Teacher;'
And all were weeping and lamenting her. But he said, Do not weep, for she has not died, but sleeps.
And they derided him, knowing that she had died.
When the voice had ceased, Jesus was found there alone. And they kept silent, and told no one at that time any of the things which they had seen [concerning the divine manifestation].
from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who died between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be charged against this generation!
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.
And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.
And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.
Last of all the woman died also.
Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.
This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the manna your fathers ate—and they died. The one who eats this bread will live forever.”
Then the Jews said, “Now we know You have a demon. Abraham died and so did the prophets. You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word, he will never taste death—ever!’
Are You greater than our father Abraham who died? Even the prophets died. Who do You pretend to be?”
So Jesus then told them plainly, “Lazarus has died.
Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes on me, though he have died, shall live;
Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
Jesus saith, 'Take ye away the stone;' the sister of him who hath died -- Martha -- saith to him, 'Sir, already he stinketh, for he is four days dead;'
The man who had died came out, his hands and feet tied with strips of cloth, and his face wrapped in a handkerchief. Jesus told them, "Untie him, and let him go."
Jesus, therefore, six days before the passover, came to Bethany, where was Lazarus, who had died, whom he raised out of the dead;
"Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and that his tomb is among us to this day.
When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and died. And great fear seized everyone who heard about it.
She instantly fell down at Peter's feet and died. When the young men came in, they found her dead. So they carried her out and buried her next to her husband.
After that man, at the time of the census, Judas the Galilean appeared and got people to follow him. He, too, died, and all his followers were scattered.

But there came Jews from Antioch and Iconium, and having persuaded the crowds and stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing him to have died.
Instead, they had several arguments with him about their own religion and about a certain Jesus who had died but Paul kept asserting he was alive.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man’s trespass the many died, how much more have the grace of God and the gift overflowed to the many by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ.
Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
since a person who has died is freed from sin’s claims.
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him,
For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
In the same way, my brothers, through the Messiah's body you also died as far as the Law is concerned, so that you may belong to another person, the one who was raised from the dead, and may bear fruit for God.
But now we have been released from the law, since we have died to what held us, so that we may serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old letter of the law.
For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
and I died. The commandment that was meant for life resulted in death for me.
For sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it I died.
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
And let us not be immoral, as some of them were, and twenty-three thousand died in a single day.
Because of this, many [are] weak and sick among you, and quite a few {have died}.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
After that, he was seen by more than 500 brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died.
Yes, even those who have died believing in the Messiah are lost.
But at this moment the Messiah stands risen from the dead, the first one offered in the harvest of those who have died.
Otherwise, what will those people do who are being baptized because of those who have died? If the dead are not raised at all, why are they being baptized because of them?
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
For through the law I have died to the law, so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.
Indeed, he was so sick that he nearly died. However, God had mercy on him, and not only on him but also on me, so that I would not have one grief on top of another.
since it was because of the work of Christ that he almost died. He risked his life so that he could make up for your inability to serve me.
I long to know Christ and the power which is in His resurrection, and to share in His sufferings and die even as He died;
If you died with the Messiah to the elemental forces of this world, why do you live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations:
For you have died, and your life is hidden with the Messiah in God.
But we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve like other people who have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For we declare to you what the Lord has told us to say: We who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have died.
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
and she who is given to luxury, living -- hath died;
This saying is trustworthy:For if we have died with Him,we will also live with Him;
There have been many priests, since each one of them had to stop serving in office when he died.
And so he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the eternal inheritance he has promised, since he died to set them free from the violations committed under the first covenant.
For a will is in force only when somebody has died, since it never takes effect as long as the one who made it is alive.
He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained testimony of being righteous, God bearing testimony to his gifts, and by it, having died, he yet speaks.
