'Face' in the Bible

But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will surely curse You to Your face.”

However, put forth Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh; he will curse You to Your face.”

“Then a spirit passed by my face;The hair of my flesh bristled up.

“Now please look at me,And see if I lie to your face.

“Then, indeed, you could lift up your face without moral defect,And you would be steadfast and not fear.

“Only two things do not do to me,Then I will not hide from Your face:

“Why do You hide Your faceAnd consider me Your enemy?

“For he has covered his face with his fatAnd made his thighs heavy with flesh.

“You have shriveled me up,It has become a witness;And my leanness rises up against me,It testifies to my face.

“My face is flushed from weeping,And deep darkness is on my eyelids,

“For then you will delight in the AlmightyAnd lift up your face to God.

“The eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight,Saying, ‘No eye will see me.’And he disguises his face.

“He obscures the face of the full moonAnd spreads His cloud over it.

“I smiled on them when they did not believe,And the light of my face they did not cast down.

“They abhor me and stand aloof from me,And they do not refrain from spitting at my face.

Then he will pray to God, and He will accept him,That he may see His face with joy,And He may restore His righteousness to man.

When He keeps quiet, who then can condemn?And when He hides His face, who then can behold Him,That is, in regard to both nation and man?—

“It changes direction, turning around by His guidance,That it may do whatever He commands itOn the face of the inhabited earth.

“Who can open the doors of his face?Around his teeth there is terror.
