'Help' in the Bible
Give now a cry for help; is there anyone who will give you an answer? and to which of the holy ones will you make your prayer?
Is not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me?
For now you have become like these streams that are no help; you see a terror, and are afraid.
Teach me, and I will be silent.Help me understand what I did wrong.
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:
They go feeling about in the dark without light, wandering without help like those overcome with wine.
Earth, do not cover my blood;may my cry for help find no resting place.
I cry out: “Violence!” but get no response;I call for help, but there is no justice.
From the city, men groan;the mortally wounded cry for help,yet God pays no attention to this crime.
"What a help you are to the weak! How powerfully you deliver those without strength!
{With whose help} have you uttered words, and whose breath has come forth from you?
Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.
They tear up my path;they contribute to my destruction,without anyone to help them.
I cry out to You for help, but You do not answer me;when I stand up, You merely look at me.
Yet no one would stretch out his handagainst a ruined manwhen he cries out to him for helpbecause of his distress.
I walk about blackened, but not by the sun.I stood in the assembly and cried out for help.
"If I've refused to help my male and female servants when they complain against me,
If I kept back the desire of the poor; if the widow's eye was looking for help to no purpose;
If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate:
“When He keeps quiet, who then can condemn?When He hides His face [withdrawing His favor and help], who then can behold Him [and make supplication to Him],Whether it be a nation or a man by himself?—
People cry out because of severe oppression;they shout for help because of the arm of the mighty.
Those who have a godless heart harbor anger;even when God binds them, they do not cry for help.
Will your cry for help sustain [you] without distress, or all [the] efforts of [your] strength?
can you help God spread out the skiesas hard as a cast metal mirror?
Who prepares for the crow its prey, when its young ones cry to God for help, [and] they wander around {for lack of food}?
