'Insults' in the Bible
Deliver me from all my sins of rebellion! Do not make me the object of fools' insults!
All who hate me whisper insults about me to one another; they plan ways to harm me.
before the vindictive enemy who ridicules and insults me.
Now it is not an enemy who insults me—otherwise I could bear it;it is not a foe who rises up against me—otherwise I could hide from him.
May he send help from heaven and deliver me from my enemies who hurl insults! (Selah) May God send his loyal love and faithfulness!
Look, they hurl insults at me and openly threaten to kill me, for they say, "Who hears?"
For I have endured insults because of You,and shame has covered my face.
because zeal for Your house has consumed me,and the insults of those who insult Youhave fallen on me.
I mourned and fasted, but it brought me insults.
You know the insults I endure—my shame and disgrace. You are aware of all my adversaries.
Insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair.I waited for sympathy, but there was none;for comforters, but found no one.
How long, O God, will the adversary hurl insults? Will the enemy blaspheme your name forever?
Remember how the enemy hurls insults, O Lord, and how a foolish nation blasphemes your name!
Rise up, God, defend Your cause!Remember the insultsthat fools bring against You all day long.
He drove his enemies back; he made them a permanent target for insults.
Remember, Lord, the reproach of your servant! I carry inside me all the insults of many people,
Your enemies, O Lord, hurl insults; they insult your chosen king as they dog his footsteps.
Take away the insults that I dread! Indeed, your regulations are good.
Then I can answer the one who insults me, for I place my trust in your word.
