Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing?
“The paths of their course wind along,They go up into nothing and perish.
“For we are only of yesterday and know nothing,Because our days on earth are as a shadow.
“There dwells in his tent nothing of his;Brimstone is scattered on his habitation.
“Nothing remains for him to devour,Therefore his prosperity does not endure.
“He stretches out the north over empty spaceAnd hangs the earth on nothing.
“For calamity from God is a terror to me,And because of His majesty I can do nothing.
“For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothingWhen he is pleased with God.’
“Nothing on earth is like him,One made without fear.
