'Shame' in the Bible
For he who makes holy and those who are made holy are all of one family; and for this reason it is no shame for him to give them the name of brothers,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
But now their desire is for a better country, that is to say, for one in heaven; and so it is no shame to God to be named their God; for he has made ready a town for them.
because he preferred to endure the hardship of the people of God rather than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin.
He considered the reproach of the Christ [that is, the rebuke he would suffer for his faithful obedience to God] to be greater wealth than all the treasures of Egypt; for he looked ahead to the reward [promised by God].
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
But if you have not that punishment of which we all have our part, then you are not true sons, but children of shame.
So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His contempt [the disgrace and shame that He had to suffer].
