'Sky' in the Bible

Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the entire assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward the sky.

and yet, will God truly reside on earth? Look! Neither the sky nor the highest heaven can contain you! How much less this Temple that I have built!

"When the sky is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them:

When Solomon finished presenting all these prayers and requests to the Lord, he got up from before the altar of the Lord where he had kneeled and spread out his hands toward the sky.

Anyone who belongs to Jeroboam and dies in the city,the dogs will eat,and anyone who dies in the field,the birds of the sky will eat,for the Lord has said it!’

Anyone who belongs to Baasha and dies in the city,the dogs will eat,and anyone who is his and dies in the field,the birds of the sky will eat.”

Then fire from the Lord fell from the sky. It consumed the offering, the wood, the stones, and the dirt, and licked up the water in the trench.
