'Sons' in the Bible

And those encamping by him are of the tribe of Simeon; and the prince of the sons of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;

Then the tribe of Gad: and the captain of the sons of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel.

On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies: and the captain of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.

And by him is the tribe of Manasseh; and the prince of the sons of Manasseh is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;

Then the tribe of Benjamin: and the captain of the sons of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni.

The standard of the camp of Dan is northward, by their hosts; and the prince of the sons of Dan is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;

And those encamping by him are of the tribe of Asher; and the prince of the sons of Asher is Pagiel son of Ocran;

And the tribe of Naphtali; and the prince of the sons of Naphtali is Ahira son of Enan;

These are those numbered of the sons of Israel by the house of their fathers; all those numbered of the camps by their hosts are six hundred thousand, and three thousand, and five hundred and fifty.

And the Levites have not numbered themselves in the midst of the sons of Israel, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

And the sons of Israel do according to all that Jehovah hath commanded Moses; so they have encamped by their standards, and so they have journeyed; each by his families, by the house of his fathers.

And these are the names of the sons of Aaron; Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests which were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest's office.

But Nadab and Abihu died in the Lord’s presence when they presented unauthorized fire before the Lord in the Wilderness of Sinai, and they had no sons. So Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests under the direction of Aaron their father.

and they have kept all the vessels of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle;

And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.

And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest's office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

'And I, lo, I have taken the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel instead of every first-born opening a womb among the sons of Israel, and the Levites have been Mine;

For all the first sons are mine; on the day when I put to death all the first sons in the land of Egypt, I took for myself every first male birth of man and beast. They are mine; I am the Lord.

'Number the sons of Levi by the house of their fathers, by their families; every male from a son of a month and upward thou dost number them.'

And these were the sons of Levi by their names; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families; Libni, and Shimei.

And the sons of Kohath by their families; Amram, and Izehar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

And the sons of Merari by their families; Mahli, and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to the house of their fathers.

And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation shall be the tabernacle, and the tent, the covering thereof, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,

The families of the sons of Kohath shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward.

And under the custody and charge of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the vessels thereof, and all that serveth thereto,

But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Number every first-born male of the sons of Israel from a son of a month and upward, and take up the number of their names;

Separate the descendants of Levi for me since I am the LORD in place of all the first-born sons of Israel. Also separate the livestock of the descendants of Levi in place of all the firstborn of the livestock of Israel."

So Moses numbered all the firstborn from the sons of Israel just as the LORD commanded him.

"Separate the descendants of Levi in place of all the firstborn sons of Israel and the livestock of the descendants of Levi in place of their livestock. The descendants of Levi belong to me, since I am the LORD.

And from those ransomed of the two hundred and seventy and three (who are more than the Levites) of the first-born of the sons of Israel,

And thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.

from the first-born of the sons of Israel he hath taken the money, a thousand and three hundred and sixty and five -- by the shekel of the sanctuary;

And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.

Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers,

This shall be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation, about the most holy things:

And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:

And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.

But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden:

Take also the sum of the sons of Gershon, throughout the houses of their fathers, by their families;

At the appointment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and ye shall appoint unto them in charge all their burdens.

This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation: and their charge shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them after their families, by the house of their fathers;

This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tabernacle of the congregation, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

And Moses and Aaron and the chief of the congregation numbered the sons of the Kohathites after their families, and after the house of their fathers,

And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, throughout their families, and by the house of their fathers,

These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, whom Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD.

And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, throughout their families, by the house of their fathers,

These be those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

'Command the sons of Israel, and they send out of the camp every leper, and every one with an issue, and every one defiled by a body;

And the sons of Israel do so, and they send them out unto the outside of the camp; as Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses so have the sons of Israel done.

Speak unto the sons of Israel, Man or woman, when they do any of the sins of man, by committing a trespass against Jehovah, and that person is guilty,

'And every heave-offering of all the holy things of the sons of Israel, which they bring near to the priest, becometh his;

'Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, When any man's wife turneth aside, and hath committed against him a trespass,

'Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, When a man or woman doeth singularly, by vowing a vow of a Nazarite, to be separate to Jehovah;

Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,

And they have put My name upon the sons of Israel, and I -- I do bless them.'

Two wagons and four oxen he gave unto the sons of Gershon, according to their service:

And four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari, according unto their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Nahshon son of Amminadab.

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Nethaneel son of Zuar.

On the third day, the prince of the sons of Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon; --

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Eliab son of Helon.

On the fourth day, Elizur, son of Shedeur, prince of the sons of Reuben; --

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Elizur son of Shedeur.

On the fifth day, the prince of the sons of Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai; --

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.

On the sixth day, the prince of the sons of Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel; --

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Eliasaph son of Deuel.

On the seventh day, the prince of the sons of Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; --

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Elishama son of Ammihud.

On the eighth day, the prince of the sons of Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur; --

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.

On the ninth day, the prince of the sons of Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni; --

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Abidan son of Gideoni.

On the tenth day, the prince of the sons of Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai; --

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.

On the eleventh day, the prince of the sons of Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran; --

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Pagiel son of Ocran.

On the twelfth day, the prince of the sons of Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan; --

and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Ahira son of Enan.

all the oxen for burnt-offering are twelve bullocks, rams twelve, lambs, sons of a year twelve, and their present; and kids of the goats twelve, for sin-offering;

and all the oxen for the sacrifice of the peace-offerings are twenty and four bullocks, rams sixty, he-goats sixty, lambs, sons of a year, sixty; this is the dedication of the altar, in the day of its being anointed.

'Take the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and thou hast cleansed them.

and thou hast brought near the Levites before the tent of meeting, and thou hast assembled the whole company of the sons of Israel,

and thou hast brought near the Levites before Jehovah, and the sons of Israel have laid their hands on the Levites,

and Aaron hath waved the Levites -- a wave-offering before Jehovah, from the sons of Israel, and they have been -- for doing the service of Jehovah.

And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.

and thou hast separated the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and the Levites have become Mine;

For they are certainly given to Me out of the midst of the sons of Israel, instead of him who openeth any womb -- the first-born of all -- from the sons of Israel I have taken them to Myself;

for Mine is every first-born among the sons of Israel, among man and among beast; in the day of my smiting every first-born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for Myself;

and I take the Levites instead of every first-born among the sons of Israel:

And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

And Moses doth -- Aaron also, and all the company of the sons of Israel -- to the Levites according to all that Jehovah hath commanded Moses concerning the Levites; so have the sons of Israel done to them.

And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.

'Also, the sons of Israel prepare the passover in its appointed season;

And Moses speaketh unto the sons of Israel to prepare the passover,
