'Sons' in the Bible

With Your hand, Lord, save me from men,from men of the worldwhose portion is in this life:You fill their bellies with what You have in store;their sons are satisfied,and they leave their surplus to their children.

Your sons will succeed your ancestors;you will make them princes throughout the land.

I have become a stranger to my brothersand a foreigner to my mother’s sons

I said, “You are gods;you are all sons of the Most High.

Even Assyria has joined them;they lend support to the sons of Lot.Selah

If his sons forsake My instructionand do not live by My ordinances,

They sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons.

They shed innocent blood—the blood of their sons and daughterswhom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan;so the land became polluted with blood.

Sons are indeed a heritage from the Lord,children, a reward.

Like arrows in the hand of a warriorare the sons born in one’s youth.

Your wife will be like a fruitful vinewithin your house,your sons, like young olive treesaround your table.

If your sons keep My covenantand My decrees that I will teach them,their sons will also sit on your throne forever.”

Then our sons will be like plantsnurtured in their youth,our daughters, like corner pillarsthat are carved in the palace style.
