'Soul' in the Bible

The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked,And His soul hates the [malevolent] one who loves violence.

Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious and merciful to me,For my soul finds shelter and safety in You,And in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge and be confidently secureUntil destruction passes by.

For God alone my soul waits in silence;From Him comes my salvation.

My soul (my life, my inner self) longs for and greatly desires the courts of the Lord;My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.
