'Trap' in the Bible

know with certainty that the Lord your God will not continue to drive these nations out from before you; but they will be a snare and a trap to you, and a whip on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which the Lord your God has given you.

“A snare seizes him by the heel,And a trap snaps shut on him.

“A noose for him is hidden in the ground,And a trap for him on the path.

May their table before them become a snare;And when they are in peace, may it become a trap.

The proud have hidden a trap for me, and cords;They have spread a net by the wayside;They have set snares for me. Selah.

Keep me from the jaws of the trap which they have set for me,And from the snares of those who do iniquity.

Does a bird fall into a trap on the ground when there is no bait in it?Does a trap spring up from the earth when it captures nothing at all?

Then the Pharisees went and plotted together how they might trap Him in what He said.

Then they *sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Him in order to trap Him in a statement.

“Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap;

And David says,“Let their table become a snare and a trap,And a stumbling block and a retribution to them.
