But your wives, young children, and livestock-I know that you have a lot of livestock-will remain in the cities I have given you

He will love you, bless you, and multiply you. He will bless your descendants, and the produce of your soil-your grain, new wine, and oil-the young of your herds, and the newborn of your flocks, in the land He swore to your fathers that He would give you.

If there is a young woman who is a virgin engaged to a man, and [another] man encounters her in the city and has sex with her,

you must take the two of them out to the gate of that city and stone them to death-the young woman because she did not cry out in the city and the man because he has violated his neighbor's fiance. You must purge the evil from you.

"But if the man finds the young engaged woman in the field and the man overpowers her and {he has sex with her}, then the man only must die who lay with her.

Do nothing to the young woman, because she is not guilty of an offense deserving death. This case is just like one in which a man attacks his neighbor and murders him.

for he found her in the field, the engaged young woman cried out, but there was no rescuer {to help her}.

If a man encounters a young woman, a virgin who is not engaged, takes hold of her and rapes her, and they are discovered,

the man who raped her must give the young woman's father 50 silver [shekels], and she must become his wife because he violated her. He cannot divorce her as long as he lives.

There must never be a sacred prostitute among the young women of Israel nor a sacred male prostitute among the young men of Israel.
