'Yourselves' in the Bible
as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in the time of your ignorance:
but like as he who called you is holy, be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living;
And if you call on [him] [as] Father who judges impartially according to each one's work, conduct yourselves with fear during the time of your temporary residence,
By obedience to the truth, having purified yourselves for sincere love of the brothers, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,
So rid yourselves of all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all slander.
you yourselves, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood and to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
My loved ones, I make this request with all my heart, that, as those for whom this world is a strange country, you will keep yourselves from the desires of the flesh which make war against the soul;
Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that in a case where they speak against you as those who do evil, they may, by observing your good works, glorify God in a day of visitation.
Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme;
You household servants must submit yourselves to your masters out of respect, not only to those who are kind and fair, but also to those who are unjust.
In a similar way, you wives must submit yourselves to your husbands so that, even if some of them refuse to obey the word, they may be won over without a word through your conduct as wives
When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him -- "to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband].
Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God -- "that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection].
And who will be able to harm you, if you show yourselves zealous for that which is good?
Christ, then, having suffered for us in the flesh, ye also with the same mind arm yourselves, because he who did suffer in the flesh hath done with sin,
But the end of all things is now close at hand: therefore be sober-minded and temperate, so that you may give yourselves to prayer.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves; for charity shall cover a multitude of sins.
according as each hath received a gift, ministering it among yourselves, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God;
Not as lords over God's heritage, but making yourselves examples to the flock.
And in the same way, let the younger men be ruled by the older ones. Let all of you put away pride and make yourselves ready to be servants: for God is a hater of pride, but he gives grace to those who make themselves low.
Humble yourselves therefore beneath the mighty hand of God, so that at the right time He may set you on high.
