'Overboard' in the Bible

The sailors were so afraid that each cried out to his own god and they flung the ship's cargo overboard to make the ship lighter. Jonah, meanwhile, had gone down into the hold below deck, had lain down, and was sound asleep.

The next day, because we were being tossed so violently by the storm, they began to throw the cargo overboard.

On the third day, they threw the ship’s gear overboard with their own hands.

When they had eaten enough, they began to lighten the ship by throwing the grain overboard into the sea.
