Asa's Religious Reforms

¹⁴ And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice and shouting and with trumpets and horns. ¹⁵ And all Judah rejoiced in the oath, for they had sworn with all their hearts, and sought him with all their lust, and he was found of them. And the LORD gave them rest round about. ¹⁶ And thereto king Asa put Maacah his mother out of authority, because she had made an idol in a grove: and brake down her idol and stamped it and burnt it by the brook Kidron.
