Isaiah 40:3

He said, "'I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord,'" as said Isaiah the prophet.

As it has been written in Isaiah the prophet, "Behold, I send My messenger before Thy face, who shall prepare Thy way;

Now in those days comes John, the Immerser, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

And many of the sons of Israel will he turn to the Lord their God.

"And you also, child, shall be called 'Prophet of the Most High;' for you shall go before the face of the Lord, to prepare His ways;
