Job 23:14

so that no one would be unsettled by these afflictions. You yourselves know that we have been destined for this.

Oh, the depth of the riches and of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and his ways past finding out!

For God has not destined us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

and, "A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall;" they stumble because they disobey the wordas they were desstined to do.
