The Prologue To John's Gospel

³ All things came into existence through him, and without him nothing was. ⁴ What came into existence in him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵ And the light goes on shining in the dark; it is not overcome by the dark.

John 5:26

For even as the Father has life in himself, so he has given to the Son to have life in himself.

Then again Jesus said to them, I am the light of the world; he who comes with me will not be walking in the dark but will have the light of life.
