The Prologue To John's Gospel

³ All things were made through him, and apart from him nothing was made that has been made. ⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. ⁵ And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn't overcome it.

John 5:26

For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.
