¹ The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham. ² Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers. ³ Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; Phares begat Esrom; Esrom begat Aram;
