A Barren Fig Tree Cursed

¹⁷ And he left them, and went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there. ¹⁸ In the morning as he went back to the city, he grew hungry, ¹⁹ and seeing a fig tree by the roadside, he went up to it, but found nothing on it but leaves. And he said to it, "No more fruit shall ever grow on you!" And the fig tree withered up at once.
