Now to him who is able to keep you from slipping and to make you stand unblemished and exultant before his glory ??25 to the only God, our saviour through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and for all time: Amen.

And He said, “Abba, Father! All things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”

We have received grace and apostleship through Him to bring about the obedience of faith among all the nations, on behalf of His name,

Jesus said to them, "I assure you: Moses didn't give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the real bread from heaven. For the bread of God is the One who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." Then they said, "Sir, give us this bread always!" read more.

Therefore, holy brothers and companions in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession;

Now I, Paul, make a personal appeal to you by the gentleness and graciousness of Christ—I who am humble among you in person but bold toward you when absent.

Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus,

accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive.

keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.

For you were called to this,
because Christ also suffered for you,
leaving you an example,
so that you should follow in His steps.

I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.

And the crowds kept saying, “This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee!”

Although they were looking for a way to arrest Him, they feared the crowds, because they regarded Him as a prophet.

But others said, “He’s Elijah.” Still others said, “He’s a prophet—like one of the prophets.”

Then fear came over everyone, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen among us,” and “God has visited His people.”

Yet I must travel today, tomorrow, and the next day, because it is not possible for a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem!

“What things?” He asked them.

So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a Prophet powerful in action and speech before God and all the people,

“Sir,” the woman replied, “I see that You are a prophet.

When the people saw the sign He had done, they said, “This really is the Prophet who was to come into the world!”

When some from the crowd heard these words, they said, “This really is the Prophet!”

Again they asked the blind man, “What do you say about Him, since He opened your eyes?”

“He’s a prophet,” he said.

Moses said:

The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He will say to you.

And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great:

He was manifested in the flesh,
vindicated in the Spirit,
seen by angels,
preached among the nations,
believed on in the world,
taken up in glory.

He is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn over all creation.

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God!”

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.

and who has been declared to be the powerful Son of God by the resurrection from the dead according to the Spirit of holiness.

The ancestors are theirs, and from them, by physical descent, came the Messiah, who is God over all, praised forever. Amen.

For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ,

God will bring this about in His own time. He is

the blessed and only Sovereign,
the King of kings,
and the Lord of lords,

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of His nature, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh:

KING OF KINGS

AND LORD OF LORDS.

We must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work.

King Herod heard of this, because Jesus’ name had become well known. Some said, “John the Baptist has been raised from the dead, and that’s why supernatural powers are at work in him.”

When John heard in prison what the Messiah was doing, he sent a message by his disciples

Then He proceeded to denounce the towns where most of His miracles were done, because they did not repent:

He went to His hometown and began to teach them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “How did this wisdom and these miracles come to Him?

When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard Him were astonished. “Where did this man get these things?” they said. “What is this wisdom given to Him, and how are these miracles performed by His hands?

Now He came near the path down the Mount of Olives, and the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen:

“But I have a greater testimony than John’s because of the works that the Father has given Me to accomplish. These very works I am doing testify about Me that the Father has sent Me.

“I did tell you and you don’t believe,” Jesus answered them. “The works that I do in My Father’s name testify about Me.

But if I am doing them and you don’t believe Me, believe the works. This way you will know and understand that the Father is in Me and I in the Father.”

Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me. Otherwise, believe because of the works themselves.

If I had not done the works among them that no one else has done, they would not have sin. Now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father.

A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life—a ransom for many.”

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.”

Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”

“Don’t assume that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

But He said to them, “I must proclaim the good news about the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because I was sent for this purpose.”

“I came to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already set ablaze!

For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

If anyone hears My words and doesn’t keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.

“You are a king then?” Pilate asked.

“You say that I’m a king,” Jesus replied. “I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.”

This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them.

As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office, and He said to him, “Follow Me!” So he got up and followed Him.

Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock.

The disciples went and did just as Jesus directed them.

So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

“Master,” Simon replied, “we’ve worked hard all night long and caught nothing! But at Your word, I’ll let down the nets.”

I will show you what someone is like who comes to Me, hears My words, and acts on them:

“Fill the jars with water,” Jesus told them. So they filled them to the brim.

As soon as she heard this, she got up quickly and went to Him.

The one who has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father. I also will love him and will reveal Myself to him.”

“Cast the net on the right side of the boat,” He told them, “and you’ll find some.” So they did, and they were unable to haul it in because of the large number of fish.

Then one of the elders said to me, “Stop crying. Look! The Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has been victorious so that He may open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came and kept crying out, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is cruelly tormented by a demon.”

The historical record of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:

And all the crowds were astounded and said, “Perhaps this is the Son of David!”

Then the crowds who went ahead of Him and those who followed kept shouting:

Hosanna to the Son of David!
He who comes in the name
of the Lord is the blessed One!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!

Many people told him to keep quiet, but he was crying out all the more, “Have mercy on me, Son of David!”

So Jesus asked this question as He taught in the temple complex, “How can the scribes say that the Messiah is the Son of David?

Doesn’t the Scripture say that the Messiah comes from David’s offspring and from the town of Bethlehem, where David once lived?”

concerning His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was a descendant of David according to the flesh

Keep your attention on Jesus Christ as risen from the dead and descended from David. This is according to my gospel.

But Jesus has now obtained a superior ministry, and to that degree He is the mediator of a better covenant, which has been legally enacted on better promises.

saying, “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

“I baptize you with water for repentance, but the One who is coming after me is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to remove His sandals. He Himself will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

The One who comes from above is above all. The one who is from the earth is earthly and speaks in earthly terms. The One who comes from heaven is above all.

You call Me Teacher and Lord. This is well said, for I am.

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah!”

Christ died and came to life for this: that He might rule over both the dead and the living.

He is also the head of the body, the church;
He is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead,
so that He might come to have
first place in everything.

So He became higher in rank than the angels, just as the name He inherited is superior to theirs.

For Jesus is considered worthy of more glory than Moses, just as the builder has more honor than the house.

He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.

and to reward with rest you who are afflicted, along with us. This will take place at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with His powerful angels,

Then He said, “I assure you: You will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

[Then an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him.

Or do you think that I cannot call on My Father, and He will provide Me at once with more than 12 legions of angels?

Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:

When He again brings His firstborn into the world, He says, And all God’s angels must worship Him.

Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and also of the living creatures and of the elders. Their number was countless thousands, plus thousands of thousands.

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all,
the righteous for the unrighteous,
that He might bring you to God,
after being put to death in the fleshly realm
but made alive in the spiritual realm.

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To Him who loves us and has set us free from our sins by His blood,

No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.

And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father.

He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people for His own possession, eager to do good works.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though He was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich.

Otherwise, He would have had to suffer many times since the foundation of the world. But now He has appeared one time, at the end of the ages, for the removal of sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

This is how we have come to know love: He laid down His life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers.

I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”

Therefore I will give Him the many as a portion,
and He will receive the mighty as spoil,
because He submitted Himself to death,
and was counted among the rebels;
yet He bore the sin of many
and interceded for the rebels.

He will not break a bruised reed,
and He will not put out a smoldering wick,
until He has led justice to victory.

Then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when He abolishes all rule and all authority and power.

The victor: I will give him the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I also won the victory and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Then one of the elders said to me, “Stop crying. Look! The Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has been victorious so that He may open the scroll and its seven seals.”

I looked, and there was a white horse. The horseman on it had a bow; a crown was given to him, and he went out as a victor to conquer.

These will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings. Those with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

Now to Him who has power to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation about Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept silent for long ages

And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great:

He was manifested in the flesh,
vindicated in the Spirit,
seen by angels,
preached among the nations,
believed on in the world,
taken up in glory.

I want their hearts to be encouraged and joined together in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God’s mystery—Christ.

On the contrary, we speak God’s hidden wisdom in a mystery, a wisdom God predestined before the ages for our glory.

He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure that He planned in Him

By reading this you are able to understand my insight about the mystery of the Messiah.

God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the message, to speak the mystery of the Messiah, for which I am in prison,

“Don’t cling to Me,” Jesus told her, “for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to My brothers and tell them that I am ascending to My Father and your Father—to My God and your God.”

For the Messiah did not enter a sanctuary made with hands (only a model of the true one) but into heaven itself, so that He might now appear in the presence of God for us.

Now that He has gone into heaven, He is at God’s right hand with angels, authorities, and powers subject to Him.

And while He was blessing them, He left them and was carried up into heaven.

Then what if you were to observe the Son of Man ascending to where He was before?

You ascended to the heights, taking away captives;
You received gifts from people,
even from the rebellious,
so that the Lord God might live there.

For it says:

When He ascended on high,
He took prisoners into captivity;
He gave gifts to people.

After He had said this, He was taken up as they were watching, and a cloud took Him out of their sight.

Then after speaking to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens—Jesus the Son of God—let us hold fast to the confession.

But I know my living Redeemer,
and He will stand on the dust at last.

This is what the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says:

Because of you, I will send to Babylon
and bring all of them as fugitives,
even the Chaldeans in the ships in which they rejoice.

And He will redeem Israel
from all its sins.

for their Redeemer is strong,
and He will take up their case against you.

Do not fear, you worm Jacob,
you men of Israel:
I will help you—
this is the Lord’s declaration.
Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

This is what the Lord, your Redeemer who formed you from the womb, says:

I am Yahweh, who made everything;
who stretched out the heavens by Myself;
who alone spread out the earth;

The Holy One of Israel is our Redeemer;
Yahweh of Hosts is His name.

“The Redeemer will come to Zion,
and to those in Jacob who turn from transgression.”
This is the Lord’s declaration.

Their Redeemer is strong;
Yahweh of Hosts is His name.
He will fervently plead their case
so that He might bring rest to the earth
but turmoil to those who live in Babylon.

For whoever is ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”

Who is the liar, if not the one who denies that Jesus is the Messiah? This one is the antichrist: the one who denies the Father and the Son.

But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer given to you.

“I assure you,” Jesus said to him, “tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times!”

They profess to know God, but they deny Him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, and disqualified for any good work.

But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father in heaven.

Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A servant approached him and she said, "You were with Jesus the Galilean too." But he denied it in front of everyone: "I don't know what you're talking about!"

if we endure, we will also reign with Him;
if we deny Him, He will also deny us;

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, and will bring swift destruction on themselves.

He commanded us to preach to the people and to solemnly testify that He is the One appointed by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead.

I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge the living and the dead, and because of His appearing and His kingdom:

Therefore don’t judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.

All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

The Father, in fact, judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son,

because He has set a day when He is going to judge the world in righteousness by the Man He has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”

on the day when God judges what people have kept secret, according to my gospel through Christ Jesus.

But you, why do you criticize your brother? Or you, why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before the tribunal of God.

They will give an account to the One who stands ready to judge the living and the dead.

Now that He has gone into heaven, He is at God’s right hand with angels, authorities, and powers subject to Him.

You have loved righteousness
and hated lawlessness;
this is why God, Your God,
has anointed You
with the oil of joy
rather than Your companions.

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah!”

Then after speaking to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the Power of God.”

God exalted this man to His right hand as ruler and Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

He demonstrated this power in the Messiah by raising Him from the dead and seating Him at His right hand in the heavens

For this reason God highly exalted Him
and gave Him the name
that is above every name,

They said with a loud voice:

The Lamb who was slaughtered is worthy
to receive power and riches
and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and blessing!

Therefore, He had to be like His brothers in every way, so that He could become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To Him who loves us and has set us free from our sins by His blood,

But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and guard you from the evil one.

Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

if we are faithless, He remains faithful,
for He cannot deny Himself.

Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness.

He entered the most holy place once for all, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written: Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.

And they sang a new song:

You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because You were slaughtered,
and You redeemed people
for God by Your blood
from every tribe and language
and people and nation.

He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people for His own possession, eager to do good works.

They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became God-given wisdom for us—our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption,

We have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, in Him.

For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from the fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold,

You did not choose Me, but I chose you. I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.

And she did this for many days.

But Paul was greatly aggravated and turning to the spirit, said, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out right away.

Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

In that day you will ask in My name. I am not telling you that I will make requests to the Father on your behalf.

But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name.

But Peter said, “I don’t have silver or gold, but what I have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”

By faith in His name, His name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. So the faith that comes through Him has given him this perfect health in front of all of you.

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—whom you crucified and whom God raised from the dead—by Him this man is standing here before you healthy.

giving thanks always for everything

grace flows from your lips.
Therefore God has blessed you forever.

His mouth is sweetness.
He is absolutely desirable.
This is my love, and this is my friend,
young women of Jerusalem.

Just as many were appalled at You
His appearance was so disfigured
that He did not look like a man,
and His form did not resemble a human being—

He grew up before Him like a young plant
and like a root out of dry ground.
He didn’t have an impressive form
or majesty that we should look at Him,
no appearance that we should desire Him.

He was transformed in front of them, and His face shone like the sun. Even His clothes became as white as the light.

His head and hair were white like wool—white as snow—and His eyes like a fiery flame.

and the One seated looked like jasper and carnelian stone. A rainbow that looked like an emerald surrounded the throne.

every knee will bow
of those who are in heaven and on earth
and under the earth

but to the Son:

Your throne, God,
is forever and ever,
and the scepter of Your kingdom
is a scepter of justice.

The seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven saying:

The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom
of our Lord and of His Messiah,
and He will reign forever and ever!

one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

God is faithful; you were called by Him into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah!”

God exalted this man to His right hand as ruler and Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Then He told them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

yet for us there is one God, the Father.
All things are from Him,
and we exist for Him.
And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ.
All things are through Him,
and we exist through Him.

Therefore I am informing you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.

Today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of David.

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.”

For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them.

God exalted this man to His right hand as ruler and Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

“From this man’s descendants, according to the promise, God brought the Savior, Jesus, to Israel.

This has now been made evident
through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus,
who has abolished death
and has brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel.

And we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent His Son as the world’s Savior.

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all,
the righteous for the unrighteous,
that He might bring you to God,
after being put to death in the fleshly realm
but made alive in the spiritual realm.

because zeal for Your house has consumed me,
and the insults of those who insult You
have fallen on me.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written: Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.

But we do see Jesus—made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God’s grace He might taste death for everyone—crowned with glory and honor because of His suffering in death.

He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

But He was pierced because of our transgressions,
crushed because of our iniquities;
punishment for our peace was on Him,
and we are healed by His wounds.

so also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.

He Himself bore our sins
in His body on the tree,
so that, having died to sins,
we might live for righteousness;
you have been healed by His wounds.

For the High and Exalted One
who lives forever, whose name is Holy says this:
“I live in a high and holy place,
and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and revive the heart of the oppressed.

who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?

He remembered us in our humiliation
        His love is eternal.

Though the Lord is exalted,
He takes note of the humble;
but He knows the haughty from a distance.

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

because He has looked with favor
on the humble condition of His slave.
Surely, from now on all generations
will call me blessed,

So He got up from supper, laid aside His robe, took a towel, and tied it around Himself.

Having said this, He showed them His hands and His side. So the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and observe My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Don’t be an unbeliever, but a believer.”

But the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.

and they conspired to arrest Jesus in a treacherous way and kill Him.

When daybreak came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put Him to death.

They, however, were filled with rage and started discussing with one another what they might do to Jesus.

Every day He was teaching in the temple complex. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people were looking for a way to destroy Him,

He went away and discussed with the chief priests and temple police how he could hand Him over to them.

Therefore, the Jews began persecuting Jesus because He was doing these things on the Sabbath.

So the chief priests and the Pharisees convened the Sanhedrin and said, “What are we going to do since this man does many signs?

So from that day on they plotted to kill Him.

The Pharisees and Sadducees approached, and as a test, asked Him to show them a sign from heaven.

Some Pharisees approached Him to test Him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife on any grounds?”

Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to trap Him by what He said.

The Pharisees came out and began to argue with Him, demanding of Him a sign from heaven to test Him.

Some Pharisees approached Him to test Him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”

Then they sent some of the Pharisees and the Herodians to Him to trap Him by what He said.

they were lying in wait for Him to trap Him in something He said.

They watched closely and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, so they could catch Him in what He said, to hand Him over to the governor’s rule and authority.

They asked this to trap Him, in order that they might have evidence to accuse Him.

Jesus stooped down and started writing on the ground with His finger.

Abraham stepped forward and said, "Will You really sweep away the righteous with the wicked? What if there are 50 righteous people in the city? Will You really sweep it away instead of sparing the place for the sake of the 50 righteous people who are in it? You could not possibly do such a thing: to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. You could not possibly do that! Won't the Judge of all the earth do what is just?" read more.
The Lord said, "If at Sodom I find 50 righteous people in the city, I will spare the whole place for their sake." Then Abraham answered, "Since I have ventured to speak to the Lord-even though I am dust and ashes- suppose the 50 righteous lack five. Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?" He replied, "I will not destroy [it] if I find 45 there." Then he spoke to Him again, "Suppose 40 are found there?" He answered, "I will not do [it] on account of 40." Then he said, "Let the Lord not be angry, and I will speak further. Suppose 30 are found there?" He answered, "I will not do [it] if I find 30 there." Then he said, "Since I have ventured to speak to the Lord, suppose 20 are found there?" He replied, "I will not destroy [it] on account of 20." Then he said, "Let the Lord not be angry, and I will speak one more time. Suppose 10 are found there?" He answered, "I will not destroy [it] on account of 10."

Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until daybreak. When the man saw that He could not defeat him, He struck Jacob's hip as they wrestled and dislocated his hip socket. Then He said to Jacob, "Let Me go, for it is daybreak." But Jacob said, "I will not let You go unless You bless me." read more.
"What is your name?" the man asked. "Jacob!" he replied. "Your name will no longer be Jacob," He said. "It will be Israel because you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed." Then Jacob asked Him, "Please tell me Your name." But He answered, "Why do you ask My name?" And He blessed him there. Jacob then named the place Peniel, "For," [he said,] "I have seen God face to face, and I have been delivered."

Then King David went in, sat in the Lord's presence, and said, "Who am I, Lord God , and what is my house that You have brought me this far? What You have done so far was a little thing to You, Lord God , for You have also spoken about Your servant's house in the distant future. And this is a revelation for mankind, Lord God . What more can David say to You? You know Your servant, Lord God . read more.
Because of Your word and according to Your will, You have revealed all these great things to Your servant. "This is why You are great, Lord God . There is no one like You, and there is no God besides You, as all we have heard confirms. And who is like Your people Israel? God came to one nation on earth in order to redeem a people for Himself, to make a name for Himself, and to perform for them great and awesome acts, driving out nations and their gods before Your people You redeemed for Yourself from Egypt. You established Your people Israel Your own people forever, and You, Lord, have become their God. "Now, Lord God, fulfill the promise forever that You have made to Your servant and his house. Do as You have promised, so that Your name will be exalted forever, when it is said, 'The Lord of Hosts is God over Israel.' The house of Your servant David will be established before You since You, Lord of Hosts, God of Israel, have revealed this to Your servant when You said, 'I will build a house for you.' Therefore, Your servant has found the courage to pray this prayer to You. Lord God , You are God; Your words are true, and You have promised this grace to Your servant. Now, please bless Your servant's house so that it will continue before You forever. For You, Lord God , have spoken, and with Your blessing Your servant's house will be blessed forever."

Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the entire congregation of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven. He said: Lord God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth below, keeping the gracious covenant with Your servants who walk before You with their whole heart. You have kept what You promised to Your servant, my father David. You spoke directly [to him] and You fulfilled [Your promise] by Your power as it is today. read more.
Therefore, Lord God of Israel, keep what You promised to Your servant, my father David: You will never fail to have a man to sit before Me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons guard their walk before Me as you have walked before Me. Now Lord God of Israel, please confirm what You promised to Your servant, my father David. But will God indeed live on earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain You, much less this temple I have built. Listen to Your servant's prayer and his petition, Lord my God, so that You may hear the cry and the prayer that Your servant prays before You today, so that Your eyes may watch over this temple night and day, toward the place where You said: My name will be there, and so that You may hear the prayer that Your servant prays toward this place. Hear the petition of Your servant and Your people Israel, which they pray toward this place. May You hear in Your dwelling place in heaven. May You hear and forgive. When a man sins against his neighbor and is forced to take an oath, and he comes to take an oath before Your altar in this temple, may You hear in heaven and act. May You judge Your servants, condemning the wicked by bringing what he has done on his own head and providing justice for the righteous by rewarding him according to his righteousness. When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy, because they have sinned against You, and they return to You and praise Your name, and they pray and plead with You for mercy in this temple, may You hear in heaven and forgive the sin of Your people Israel. May You restore them to the land You gave their ancestors. When the skies are shut and there is no rain, because they have sinned against You, and they pray toward this place and praise Your name, and they turn from their sins because You are afflicting them, may You hear in heaven and forgive the sin of Your servants and Your people Israel, so that You may teach them the good way they should walk in. May You send rain on Your land that You gave Your people for an inheritance. When there is famine on the earth, when there is pestilence, when there is blight, mildew, locust, or grasshopper, when their enemy besieges them in the region of their fortified cities, [when there is] any plague or illness, whatever prayer or petition anyone from Your people Israel might have- each man knowing his own afflictions and spreading out his hands toward this temple- may You hear in heaven, Your dwelling place, and may You forgive, act, and repay the man, according to all his ways, since You know his heart, for You alone know every human heart, so that they may fear You all the days they live on the land You gave our ancestors. Even for the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of Your name- for they will hear of Your great name, mighty hand, and outstretched arm, and will come and pray toward this temple- may You hear in heaven, Your dwelling place, and do according to all the foreigner asks You for. Then all the people on earth will know Your name, to fear You as Your people Israel do and know that this temple I have built is called by Your name. When Your people go out to fight against their enemies, wherever You send them, and they pray to the Lord in the direction of the city You have chosen and the temple I have built for Your name, may You hear their prayer and petition in heaven and uphold their cause. When they sin against You- for there is no one who does not sin- and You are angry with them and hand them over to the enemy, and their captors deport them to the enemy's country- whether distant or nearby- and when they come to their senses in the land where they were deported and repent and petition You in their captors' land: "We have sinned and done wrong; we have been wicked," and when they return to You with their whole mind and heart in the land of their enemies who took them captive, and when they pray to You in the direction of their land that You gave their ancestors, the city You have chosen, and the temple I have built for Your name, may You hear in heaven, Your dwelling place, their prayer and petition and uphold their cause. May You forgive Your people who sinned against You and all their rebellions against You, and may You give them compassion in the eyes of their captors, so that they may be compassionate to them. For they are Your people and Your inheritance; You brought them out of Egypt, out of the middle of an iron furnace. May Your eyes be open to Your servant's petition and to the petition of Your people Israel, listening to them whenever they call to You. For You, Lord God , have set them apart as Your inheritance from all the people on earth, as You spoke through Your servant Moses when You brought their ancestors out of Egypt. When Solomon finished praying this entire prayer and petition to the Lord, he got up from kneeling before the altar of the Lord, with his hands spread out toward heaven, and he stood and blessed the whole congregation of Israel with a loud voice: "May the Lord be praised! He has given rest to His people Israel according to all He has said. Not one of all the good promises He made through His servant Moses has failed. May the Lord our God be with us as He was with our ancestors. May He not abandon us or leave us. May He incline our hearts toward Him to walk in all His ways and to keep His commands, ordinances, and judgments, which He commanded our ancestors. May my words I have made my petition with before the Lord be near the Lord our God day and night, so that He may uphold His servant's cause and the cause of His people Israel, as each day requires, and so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God. There is no other! Let your heart be completely devoted to the Lord our God to walk in His ordinances and to keep His commands, as it is today."

He was praying in a certain place, and when He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples." He said to them, "Whenever you pray, say: Father, Your name be honored as holy. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. read more.
And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone in debt to us. And do not bring us into temptation." He also said to them: "Suppose one of you has a friend and goes to him at midnight and says to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I don't have anything to offer him.' Then he will answer from inside and say, 'Don't bother me! The door is already locked, and my children and I have gone to bed. I can't get up to give you anything.' I tell you, even though he won't get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs. "So I say to you, keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"

He then told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not become discouraged: "There was a judge in one town who didn't fear God or respect man. And a widow in that town kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me justice against my adversary.' read more.
"For a while he was unwilling, but later he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or respect man, yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice, so she doesn't wear me out by her persistent coming.' " Then the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. Will not God grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay [to help] them? I tell you that He will swiftly grant them justice. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find that faith on earth?"

Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t His mother called Mary, and His brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?

He was still speaking to the crowds when suddenly His mother and brothers were standing outside wanting to speak to Him.

Then His mother and His brothers came, and standing outside, they sent word to Him and called Him.

After this, He went down to Capernaum, together with His mother, His brothers, and His disciples, and they stayed there only a few days.

so His brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go to Judea so Your disciples can see Your works that You are doing.

(For not even His brothers believed in Him.)

Don’t we have the right to be accompanied by a Christian wife like the other apostles, the Lord’s brothers, and Cephas?

But I didn’t see any of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!”

“Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat!”

When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they asked His disciples, “Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

They observed that some of His disciples were eating their bread with unclean—that is, unwashed—hands.

All who saw it began to complain, “He’s gone to lodge with a sinful man!”

Therefore the Jews started complaining about Him because He said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”

And He said to him, “I assure you: Today you will be with Me in paradise.”

If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me. Where I am, there My servant also will be. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.

Father,
I desire those You have given Me
to be with Me where I am.
Then they will see My glory,
which You have given Me
because You loved Me before the world’s foundation.

and we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord.

I am pressured by both. I have the desire to depart and be with Christ—which is far better

Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord.

For You will not abandon me to Sheol;
You will not allow Your Faithful One to see decay.

From then on Jesus began to point out to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, be killed, and be raised the third day.

Then they will hand Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked, flogged, and crucified, and He will be resurrected on the third day.”

But after I have been resurrected, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”

As they were coming down from the mountain, He ordered them to tell no one what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

But after I have been resurrected, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”

Jesus answered, “Destroy this sanctuary, and I will raise it up in three days.”

Since I have obtained help that comes from God, to this day I stand and testify to both small and great, saying nothing else than what the prophets and Moses said would take place- that the Messiah must suffer, and that as the first to rise from the dead, He would proclaim light to our people and to the Gentiles."

because they were provoked that they were teaching the people and proclaiming the resurrection from the dead, using Jesus as the example.

Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them.

So Philip proceeded to tell him the good news about Jesus, beginning from that Scripture.

Immediately he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues: “He is the Son of God.”

He sent the message to the Israelites, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all.

explaining and showing that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead: “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah.”

but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles.

For we are not proclaiming ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves because of Jesus.

When the festival was already half over, Jesus went up into the temple complex and began to teach.

because He was teaching them like one who had authority, and not like their scribes.

Jesus was going all over Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

Then He began to teach them, saying:

So as He stepped ashore, He saw a huge crowd and had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. Then He began to teach them many things.

He was teaching in their synagogues, being acclaimed by everyone.

He got into one of the boats, which belonged to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from the land. Then He sat down and was teaching the crowds from the boat.

This man came to Him at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher, for no one could perform these signs You do unless God were with him.”

At dawn He went to the temple complex again, and all the people were coming to Him. He sat down and began to teach them.

When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus all that they had done. He took them along and withdrew privately to a town called Bethsaida.

After dismissing the crowds, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone.

Moving on from there, Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee. He went up on a mountain and sat there,

After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and his brother John and led them up on a high mountain by themselves.

While going up to Jerusalem, Jesus took the 12 disciples aside privately and said to them on the way:

He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a remote place and rest for a while.” For many people were coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.

He got up and departed from there to the region of Tyre and Sidon. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it, but He could not escape notice.

Then He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and began to pray,

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

Bethlehem Ephrathah,
you are small among the clans of Judah;
One will come from you
to be ruler over Israel for Me.
His origin is from antiquity,
from eternity.

Father,
I desire those You have given Me
to be with Me where I am.
Then they will see My glory,
which You have given Me
because You loved Me before the world’s foundation.

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.

Jesus said to them, “I assure you: Before Abraham was, I am.”

Now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence
with that glory I had with You
before the world existed.

He is before all things,
and by Him all things hold together.

without father, mother, or genealogy,
having neither beginning of days nor end of life,
but resembling the Son of God

remains a priest forever.

“I baptize with water,” John answered them. “Someone stands among you, but you don’t know Him.

Jesus said to him, “Have I been among you all this time without your knowing Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

He was in the world,
and the world was created through Him,
yet the world did not recognize Him.

Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God, and who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would ask Him, and He would give you living water.”

Then they asked Him, “Where is Your Father?”

“You know neither Me nor My Father,” Jesus answered. “If you knew Me, you would also know My Father.”

“This is an amazing thing,” the man told them. “You don’t know where He is from, yet He opened my eyes!

They will do these things because they haven’t known the Father or Me.

For the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers, since they did not recognize Him or the voices of the prophets that are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled their words by condemning Him.

Everyone who remains in Him does not sin; everyone who sins has not seen Him or known Him.

Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it You're going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?" Jesus answered, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.

For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from God.

Grace be with all who have undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

because I hear of your love and faith toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints.

You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy,

He commanded us to preach to the people and to solemnly testify that He is the One appointed by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead.

teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Now this is His command: that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as He commanded us.

The one who has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father. I also will love him and will reveal Myself to him.”

“I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another.

“If you love Me, you will keep My commands.

If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love.

You are My friends if you do what I command you.

They made His grave with the wicked
and with a rich man at His death,
although He had done no violence
and had not spoken deceitfully.

Then she gave birth to her firstborn Son, and she wrapped Him snugly in cloth and laid Him in a feeding trough—because there was no room for them at the lodging place.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though He was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich.

Then two criminals were crucified with Him, one on the right and one on the left.

For I tell you, what is written must be fulfilled in Me: And He was counted among the outlaws. Yes, what is written about Me is coming to its fulfillment.”

In His humiliation justice was denied Him.
Who will describe His generation?
For His life is taken from the earth.

Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death-even to death on a cross.

Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren’t His sisters here with us?” So they were offended by Him.

And if anyone is not offended because of Me, he is blessed.”

but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles.

He will be a sanctuary;
but for the two houses of Israel,
He will be a stone to stumble over
and a rock to trip over,
and a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And they were offended by Him.

But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his household.”

Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.

and

A stone to stumble over,
and a rock to trip over.

They stumble because they disobey the message; they were destined for this.

When Jesus had said this, He was troubled in His spirit and testified, “I assure you: One of you will betray Me!”

He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of suffering who knew what sickness was.
He was like someone people turned away from;
He was despised, and we didn’t value Him.

Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed deeply and said to him, “Ephphatha!” (that is, “Be opened!”).

But sighing deeply in His spirit, He said, “Why does this generation demand a sign? I assure you: No sign will be given to this generation!”

As He approached and saw the city, He wept over it,

When Jesus saw her crying, and the Jews who had come with her crying, He was angry in His spirit and deeply moved.

Jesus wept.

“Now My soul is troubled. What should I say—Father, save Me from this hour? But that is why I came to this hour.

For we know that our old self was crucified with Him in order that sin’s dominion over the body may be abolished, so that we may no longer be enslaved to sin,

and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

If you died with the Messiah to the elemental forces of this world, why do you live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations:

As it is written:
Because of You
we are being put to death all day long;
we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered.

For we who live are always given over to death because of Jesus, so that Jesus’ life may also be revealed in our mortal flesh.

This saying is trustworthy:

For if we have died with Him,
we will also live with Him;

Then Jesus said, “I am only with you for a short time. Then I’m going to the One who sent Me.

You have heard Me tell you, ‘I am going away and I am coming to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.

“But now I am going away to Him who sent Me, and not one of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’

I am no longer in the world,
but they are in the world,
and I am coming to You.
Holy Father,
protect them by Your name
that You have given Me,
so that they may be one as We are one.

“Children, I am with you a little while longer. You will look for Me, and just as I told the Jews, ‘Where I am going you cannot come,’ so now I tell you.

about righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me;

“A little while and you will no longer see Me; again a little while and you will see Me.”

I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.”

I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”

When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said, “Don’t cry.”

“Your heart must not be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me.

I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.

But Jesus turned and saw her. “Have courage, daughter,” He said. “Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that moment.

But when Jesus overheard what was said, He told the synagogue leader, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe.”

May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace,

We must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work.

Finally, he sent his son to them. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said.

For I have come down from heaven, not to do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

I know Him because I am from Him, and He sent Me.”

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, because I came from God and I am here. For I didn’t come on My own, but He sent Me.

do you say, ‘You are blaspheming’ to the One the Father set apart and sent into the world, because I said: I am the Son of God?

because the words that You gave Me,
I have given them.
They have received them
and have known for certain
that I came from You.
They have believed that You sent Me.

May they all be one,
as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You.
May they also be one in Us,
so the world may believe You sent Me.

Didn’t the Messiah have to suffer these things and enter into His glory?”

For I tell you, what is written must be fulfilled in Me: And He was counted among the outlaws. Yes, what is written about Me is coming to its fulfillment.”

Then He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, be killed, and rise after three days.

But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how it consumes Me until it is finished!

saying, ‘The Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and rise on the third day’?”

He also said to them, “This is what is written: The Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead the third day,

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

For this reason God also highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow- of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth- and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

For a child will be born for us,
a son will be given to us,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
He will be named
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh:

KING OF KINGS

AND LORD OF LORDS.

So He became higher in rank than the angels, just as the name He inherited is superior to theirs.

Now listen:
You will conceive and give birth to a son,
and you will call His name Jesus.

His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on His head. He had a name written that no one knows except Himself.

Tell Daughter Zion,
“Look, your King is coming to you,
gentle, and mounted on a donkey,
even on a colt,
the foal of a beast of burden.”

Now I, Paul, make a personal appeal to you by the gentleness and graciousness of Christ—I who am humble among you in person but bold toward you when absent.

All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves.

He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet He did not open His mouth.
Like a lamb led to the slaughter
and like a sheep silent before her shearers,
He did not open His mouth.

Then Jesus told him, “Put your sword back in its place because all who take up a sword will perish by a sword.

when He was reviled,
He did not revile in return;
when He was suffering,
He did not threaten
but entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly.

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To Him who loves us and has set us free from our sins by His blood,

In the presence of God, who gives life to all, and of Christ Jesus, who gave a good confession before Pontius Pilate, I charge you

“You are a king then?” Pilate asked.

“You say that I’m a king,” Jesus replied. “I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.”

Since I have made him a witness to the peoples,
a leader and commander for the peoples,

“I assure you: We speak what We know and We testify to what We have seen, but you do not accept Our testimony.

He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony.

“Even if I testify about Myself,” Jesus replied, “My testimony is valid, because I know where I came from and where I’m going. But you don’t know where I come from or where I’m going.

Instead, immediately after hearing about Him, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit came and fell at His feet.

Right away a man with a serious skin disease came up and knelt before Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”

As He was telling them these things, suddenly one of the leaders came and knelt down before Him, saying, “My daughter is near death, but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.”

But she came, knelt before Him, and said, “Lord, help me!”

Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons approached Him with her sons. She knelt down to ask Him for something.

One of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at His feet

“I believe, Lord!” he said, and he worshiped Him.

I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.

Moses said:

The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He will say to you.

because the words that You gave Me,
I have given them.
They have received them
and have known for certain
that I came from You.
They have believed that You sent Me.

“I have many things to say and to judge about you, but the One who sent Me is true, and what I have heard from Him—these things I tell the world.”

For I have not spoken on My own, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a command as to what I should say and what I should speak.

Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on My own. The Father who lives in Me does His works.

The one who doesn’t love Me will not keep My words. The word that you hear is not Mine but is from the Father who sent Me.

On that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of Israel’s survivors.

Then a shoot will grow from the stump of Jesse,
and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.

“The days are coming”—this is the Lord’s declaration—
“when I will raise up a Righteous Branch of David.
He will reign wisely as king
and administer justice and righteousness in the land.

In those days and at that time
I will cause a Righteous Branch
to sprout up for David,
and He will administer justice
and righteousness in the land.

“Listen, Joshua the high priest, you and your colleagues sitting before you; indeed, these men are a sign that I am about to bring My servant, the Branch.

You are to tell him: This is what the Lord of Hosts says: Here is a man whose name is Branch; He will branch out from His place and build the Lord’s temple.

And He said to him, “I assure you: Today you will be with Me in paradise.”

[Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing.”] And they divided His clothes and cast lots.

Then He said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.

About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out with a loud voice, Elí, Elí, lemá sabachtháni? that is, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?

After this, when Jesus knew that everything was now accomplished that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He said, “I’m thirsty!”

When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” Then bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

And Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I entrust My spirit. Saying this, He breathed His last.

“And the King will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’

“The one who welcomes you welcomes Me, and the one who welcomes Me welcomes Him who sent Me.

And whoever welcomes one child like this in My name welcomes Me.

Whoever listens to you listens to Me. Whoever rejects you rejects Me. And whoever rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”

Falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

Now when you sin like this against the brothers and wound their weak conscience, you are sinning against Christ.

He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves.

Here is My Servant whom I have chosen,
My beloved in whom My soul delights;
I will put My Spirit on Him,
and He will proclaim justice to the nations.

While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said:

This is My beloved Son.
I take delight in Him.
Listen to Him!

And a voice came from heaven:

You are My beloved Son;
I take delight in You!

to the praise of His glorious grace that He favored us with in the Beloved.

In the same way, the Messiah did not exalt Himself to become a high priest, but the One who said to Him, You are My Son; today I have become Your Father,

You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy
more than your companions.

He saw that there was no man—
He was amazed that there was no one interceding;
so His own arm brought salvation,
and His own righteousness supported Him.

“The days are coming”—this is the Lord’s declaration—
“when I will raise up a Righteous Branch of David.

Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness.

Righteousness will be a belt around His loins;
faithfulness will be a belt around His waist.

“I, Yahweh, have called You

and I will hold You by Your hand.
I will keep You and appoint You
to be a covenant for the people
and a light to the nations,

When He again brings His firstborn into the world, He says, And all God’s angels must worship Him.

Then those in the boat worshiped Him and said, “Truly You are the Son of God!”

Just then Jesus met them and said, “Good morning!” They came up, took hold of His feet, and worshiped Him.

Entering the house, they saw the child with Mary His mother, and falling to their knees, they worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

After worshiping Him, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy.

When He took the scroll, the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

No one who denies the Son can have the Father; he who confesses the Son has the Father as well.

“And I say to you, anyone who acknowledges Me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God,

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

“Therefore, everyone who will acknowledge Me before men, I will also acknowledge him before My Father in heaven.

and every tongue should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God—God remains in him and he in God.

to Jesus (mediator of a new covenant), and to the sprinkled blood, which says better things than the blood of Abel.

For there is one God
and one mediator between God and humanity,
Christ Jesus, Himself human,

But Jesus has now obtained a superior ministry, and to that degree He is the mediator of a better covenant, which has been legally enacted on better promises.

Therefore, He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance, because a death has taken place for redemption from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.

For the Messiah did not enter a sanctuary made with hands (only a model of the true one) but into heaven itself, so that He might now appear in the presence of God for us.

My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ the Righteous One.

He is also the head of the body, the church;
He is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead,
so that He might come to have
first place in everything.

And He put everything under His feet and appointed Him as head over everything for the church,

But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into Him who is the head—Christ.

for the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of the body.

He doesn’t hold on to the head, from whom the whole body, nourished and held together by its ligaments and tendons, develops with growth from God.

Don’t you know that your bodies are a part of Christ’s body? So should I take a part of Christ’s body and make it part of a prostitute? Absolutely not!

since we are members of His body.

Therefore, my brothers, you also were put to death in relation to the law through the crucified body of the Messiah, so that you may belong to another—to Him who was raised from the dead—that we may bear fruit for God.

For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy, because I have promised you in marriage to one husband—to present a pure virgin to Christ.

What you have heard from the beginning must remain in you. If what you have heard from the beginning remains in you, then you will remain in the Son and in the Father.

But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the Power of God." They all asked, "Are You, then, the Son of God?" And He said to them, "You say that I am."

The Father and I are one.”

If I am not doing My Father's works, don't believe Me. But if I am doing them and you don't believe Me, believe the works. This way you will know and understand that the Father is in Me and I in the Father."

And the one who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.

"If you know Me, you will also know My Father. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him." "Lord," said Philip, "show us the Father, and that's enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been among you all this time without your knowing Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? read more.
Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on My own. The Father who lives in Me does His works.

Everything the Father has is Mine. This is why I told you that He takes from what is Mine and will declare it to you.

For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ,

Indeed, we have all received grace after grace
from His fullness,

And He put everything under His feet and appointed Him as head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of the One who fills all things in every way.

until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into a mature man with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness.

For God was pleased to have
all His fullness dwell in Him,

And the apostles were giving testimony with great power to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was on all of them.

We ourselves are witnesses of everything He did in both the Judean country and in Jerusalem; yet they killed Him by hanging Him on a tree. God raised up this man on the third day and permitted Him to be seen, not by all the people, but by us, witnesses appointed beforehand by God, who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.

and who has been declared to be the powerful Son of God by the resurrection from the dead according to the Spirit of holiness.

Though He was delivered up according to God's determined plan and foreknowledge, you used lawless people to nail Him to a cross and kill Him. God raised Him up, ending the pains of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it.

But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked to have a murderer given to you. And you killed the source of life, whom God raised from the dead; we are witnesses of this.

As usual, Paul went to them, and on three Sabbath days reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and showing that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead, and saying: "This is the Messiah, Jesus, whom I am proclaiming to you."

Next, He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciples’ feet and to dry them with the towel tied around Him.

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem!
Look, your King is coming to you;
He is righteous and victorious,
humble and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though He was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich.

He humbled Himself by becoming obedient
to the point of death—
even to death on a cross.

For everything was created by Him,
in heaven and on earth,
the visible and the invisible,
whether thrones or dominions
or rulers or authorities—
all things have been created through Him and for Him.

yet for us there is one God, the Father.
All things are from Him,
and we exist for Him.
And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ.
All things are through Him,
and we exist through Him.

All things were created through Him,
and apart from Him not one thing was created
that has been created.

and to shed light for all about the administration of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things.

Long ago God spoke to the fathers by the prophets at different times and in different ways. In these last days, He has spoken to us by [His] Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things and through whom He made the universe.

“Go into the city to a certain man,” He said, “and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My time is near; I am celebrating the Passover at your place with My disciples.’”

Then He came to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the time is near. The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Then they tried to seize Him. Yet no one laid a hand on Him because His hour had not yet come.

Jesus replied to them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

Before the Passover Festival, Jesus knew that His hour had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

Jesus spoke these things, looked up to heaven, and said:

Father,
the hour has come.
Glorify Your Son
so that the Son may glorify You,

But the Pharisees said, “He drives out demons by the ruler of the demons!”

When the Pharisees heard this, they said, “The man drives out demons only by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.”

But some of them said, “He drives out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons!”

And they were saying many other blasphemous things against Him.

because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

Don’t they blaspheme the noble name that was pronounced over you at your baptism?

Yet to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is God’s power and God’s wisdom,

The boy grew up and became strong, filled with wisdom, and God’s grace was on Him.

He went to His hometown and began to teach them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “How did this wisdom and these miracles come to Him?

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him
a Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
a Spirit of counsel and strength,
a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him.

On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, he should come to Me and drink!

About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out with a loud voice, Elí, Elí, lemá sabachtháni? that is, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?

Still other seed fell on good ground; when it sprang up, it produced a crop: 100 times what was sown.” As He said this, He called out, “Anyone who has ears to hear should listen!”

As He was teaching in the temple complex, Jesus cried out, “You know Me and you know where I am from. Yet I have not come on My own, but the One who sent Me is true. You don’t know Him;

Then Jesus cried out, “The one who believes in Me believes not in Me, but in Him who sent Me.

Jesus shouted again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit.

While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said:

This is My beloved Son.
I take delight in Him.
Listen to Him!

And there came a voice from heaven:

This is My beloved Son.
I take delight in Him!

There is Another who testifies about Me, and I know that the testimony He gives about Me is valid.

The Father who sent Me has Himself testified about Me. You have not heard His voice at any time, and you haven’t seen His form.

I am the One who testifies about Myself, and the Father who sent Me testifies about Me.”

If we accept the testimony of men, God’s testimony is greater, because it is God’s testimony that He has given about His Son.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

But the Pharisees said, “He drives out demons by the ruler of the demons!”

They began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man subverting our nation, opposing payment of taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is the Messiah, a King.”

They also presented false witnesses who said, “This man does not stop speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the law.

But some sneered and said, “They’re full of new wine!”

For we have found this man to be a plague, an agitator among all the Jews throughout the Roman world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes!

Therefore I will give Him the many as a portion,
and He will receive the mighty as spoil,
because He submitted Himself to death,
and was counted among the rebels;
yet He bore the sin of many
and interceded for the rebels.

Who is this coming from Edom
in crimson-stained garments from Bozrah—
this One who is splendid in His apparel,
rising up proudly in His great might?

It is I, proclaiming vindication,
powerful to save.

But I tell you that something greater than the temple is here!

The queen of the south will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and look—something greater than Solomon is here!

For this reason God also highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow- of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth-

Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

But He was pierced because of our transgressions,
crushed because of our iniquities;
punishment for our peace was on Him,
and we are healed by His wounds.

He sent the message to the Israelites, proclaiming the good news of peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all.

For He is our peace, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility. In His flesh,

and through Him to reconcile
everything to Himself
by making peace
through the blood of His cross
whether things on earth or things in heaven.

I also saw the Holy City, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.

Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests be sad while the groom is with them? The time will come when the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.

“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like 10 virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom.

“In the middle of the night there was a shout: ‘Here’s the groom! Come out to meet him.’

He who has the bride is the groom. But the groom’s friend, who stands by and listens for him, rejoices greatly at the groom’s voice. So this joy of mine is complete.

He put on righteousness like a breastplate,
and a helmet of salvation on His head;
He put on garments of vengeance for clothing,
and He wrapped Himself in zeal as in a cloak.

“Why were you searching for Me?” He asked them. “Didn’t you know that I had to be in My Father’s house?”

And His disciples remembered that it is written: Zeal for Your house will consume Me.

“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work,” Jesus told them.

We must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work.

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the Devil, because God was with Him.

For it is contained in Scripture:

Look! I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and honored cornerstone,
and the one who believes in Him
will never be put to shame!

The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.

Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:

The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
This came from the Lord
and is wonderful in our eyes?

This Jesus is

the stone rejected by you builders,
which has become the cornerstone.

built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone.

“If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me before it hated you.

They, however, were filled with rage and started discussing with one another what they might do to Jesus.

“But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to rule over us!’

The world cannot hate you, but it does hate Me because I testify about it—that its deeds are evil.

But this happened so that the statement written in their scripture might be fulfilled: They hated Me for no reason.

When the chief priests and the temple police saw Him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!”

Pilate responded, “Take Him and crucify Him yourselves, for I find no grounds for charging Him.”

Then Herod, with his soldiers, treated Him with contempt, mocked Him, dressed Him in a brilliant robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.

Therefore, the Jews began persecuting Jesus because He was doing these things on the Sabbath.

They got up, drove Him out of town, and brought Him to the edge of the hill that their town was built on, intending to hurl Him over the cliff.

After this, Jesus traveled in Galilee, since He did not want to travel in Judea because the Jews were trying to kill Him.

I know you are descendants of Abraham, but you are trying to kill Me because My word is not welcome among you.

Then they were trying again to seize Him, yet He eluded their grasp.

Then, moving on, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office, and He said to him, “Follow Me!” So he got up and followed Him.

“Follow Me,” Jesus told them, “and I will make you fish for people!”

Immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed Him.

When daylight came, He summoned His disciples, and He chose 12 of them—He also named them apostles:

The next day He decided to leave for Galilee. Jesus found Philip and told him, “Follow Me!”

“Then He said to me, ‘Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’

Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t His mother called Mary, and His brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?

He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of suffering who knew what sickness was.
He was like someone people turned away from;
He was despised, and we didn’t value Him.

Those who passed by were yelling insults at Him, shaking their heads, and saying, "Ha! The One who would demolish the sanctuary and build it in three days, save Yourself by coming down from the cross!"

The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and scoffing at Him.

Many of them were saying, “He has a demon and He’s crazy! Why do you listen to Him?”

Then Herod, with his soldiers, treated Him with contempt, mocked Him, dressed Him in a brilliant robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.

The men who were holding Jesus started mocking and beating Him.

They twisted together a crown of thorns, put it on His head, and placed a reed in His right hand. And they knelt down before Him and mocked Him: “Hail, King of the Jews!”

In the same way the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked Him and said,

The soldiers also mocked Him. They came offering Him sour wine

For we are God’s coworkers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

But the people said to Saul, “Must Jonathan die, who accomplished such a great deliverance for Israel? No, as the Lord lives, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground, for he worked with God’s help today.” So the people redeemed Jonathan, and he did not die.

And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the accompanying signs.]

Working together with Him, we also appeal to you, “Don’t receive God’s grace in vain.”

“Master,” Simon replied, “we’ve worked hard all night long and caught nothing! But at Your word, I’ll let down the nets.”

They came and woke Him up, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to die!” Then He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves. So they ceased, and there was a calm.

“Who touched Me?” Jesus asked.

When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds are hemming You in and pressing against You.”

As the two men were departing from Him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it’s good for us to be here! Let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—not knowing what he said.

John responded, “Master, we saw someone driving out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him because he does not follow us.”

and raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

He replied: “The One who sows the good seed is the Son of Man;

In the same way, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near—at the door!

And He did not speak to them without a parable. Privately, however, He would explain everything to His own disciples.

“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.

Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted for them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.

“Who touched Me?” Jesus asked.

When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds are hemming You in and pressing against You.”

So many people gathered together that there was no more room, not even in the doorway, and He was speaking the message to them.

Since He had healed many, all who had diseases were pressing toward Him to touch Him.

So Jesus went with him, and a large crowd was following and pressing against Him.

As the crowd was pressing in on Jesus to hear God’s word, He was standing by Lake Gennesaret.

Then His mother and brothers came to Him, but they could not meet with Him because of the crowd.

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to attest these things to you for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star.”

I see him, but not now;
I perceive him, but not near.
A star will come from Jacob,
and a scepter will arise from Israel.
He will smash the forehead of Moab
and strike down all the Shethites.

So we have the prophetic word strongly confirmed. You will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

I will also give him the morning star.

If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love.

On the contrary, I am going away so that the world may know that I love the Father. Just as the Father commanded Me, so I do.

“Get up; let’s leave this place.

For just as through one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.

Though He was God’s Son, He learned obedience through what He suffered.

He then says, See, I have come to do Your will. He takes away the first to establish the second.

And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give water as a gift to the thirsty from the spring of life.

The one who is victorious and keeps My works to the end: I will give him authority over the nations—

I will also give him the morning star.

“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful.

What was from the beginning,
what we have heard,
what we have seen with our eyes,
what we have observed
and have touched with our hands,
concerning the Word of life—

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.

The Word became flesh
and took up residence among us.
We observed His glory,
the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father,
full of grace and truth.

For there are three that testify:

He wore a robe stained with blood, and His name is the Word of God.

For in bringing many sons to glory, it was entirely appropriate that God—all things exist for Him and through Him—should make the source of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

The Word became flesh
and took up residence among us.
We observed His glory,
the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father,
full of grace and truth.

Pilate went outside again and said to them, “Look, I’m bringing Him outside to you to let you know I find no grounds for charging Him.”

After He was perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him,

For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak, but the promise of the oath, which came after the law, appoints a Son, who has been perfected forever.

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil.

For since He Himself was tested and has suffered, He is able to help those who are tested.

for 40 days to be tempted by the Devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they were over, He was hungry.

You are the ones who stood by Me in My trials.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tested in every way as we are, yet without sin.

He was teaching in their synagogues, being acclaimed by everyone.

Many people spread their robes on the road, and others spread leafy branches cut from the fields.

Then they brought it to Jesus, and after throwing their robes on the donkey, they helped Jesus get on it.

they took palm branches and went out to meet Him. They kept shouting: “Hosanna! He who comes in the name of the Lord is the blessed One—the King of Israel!”

I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say:

Blessing and honor and glory and dominion
to the One seated on the throne,
and to the Lamb, forever and ever!

Christ Jesus, Himself human,

The historical record of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:

He humbled Himself by becoming obedient
to the point of death—
even to death on a cross.

When the time came to completion, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

I am no longer in the world,
but they are in the world,
and I am coming to You.
Holy Father,
protect them by Your name
that You have given Me,
so that they may be one as We are one.

But if I am doing them and you don’t believe Me, believe the works. This way you will know and understand that the Father is in Me and I in the Father.”

Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on My own. The Father who lives in Me does His works.

I have given them the glory You have given Me.
May they be one as We are one.

Suddenly they shouted, “What do You have to do with us, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

“What do You have to do with us, Jesus—Nazarene? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”

Whenever the unclean spirits saw Him, those possessed fell down before Him and cried out, “You are the Son of God!”

Also, demons were coming out of many, shouting and saying, “You are the Son of God!” But He rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew He was the Messiah.

The evil spirit answered them, “I know Jesus, and I recognize Paul—but who are you?”

For it has been given to you on Christ’s behalf not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for Him,

For we who live are always given over to death because of Jesus, so that Jesus’ life may also be revealed in our mortal flesh.

So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, catastrophes, persecutions, and in pressures, because of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Suddenly they shouted, “What do You have to do with us, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

Then I looked, and there was a white cloud, and One like the Son of Man was seated on the cloud, with a gold crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.

and among the lampstands was One like the Son of Man, dressed in a long robe, and with a gold sash wrapped around His chest. His head and hair were white like wool-white as snow, His eyes like a fiery flame, His feet like fine bronze fired in a furnace, and His voice like the sound of cascading waters. read more.
In His right hand He had seven stars; from His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was shining like the sun at midday.

Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse! Its rider is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a fiery flame, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knows except Himself.

But to all who did receive Him,
He gave them the right to be children of God,
to those who believe in His name,

“Whoever welcomes one little child such as this in My name welcomes Me. And whoever welcomes Me does not welcome Me, but Him who sent Me.”

“The one who welcomes you welcomes Me, and the one who welcomes Me welcomes Him who sent Me.

When Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed Him, for they were all expecting Him.

So he quickly came down and welcomed Him joyfully.

After this, when Jesus knew that everything was now accomplished that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He said, “I’m thirsty!”

Before the Passover Festival, Jesus knew that His hour had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

Do you think that I came here to give peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division!

And there was a lot of discussion about Him among the crowds. Some were saying, “He’s a good man.” Others were saying, “No, on the contrary, He’s deceiving the people.”

So a division occurred among the crowd because of Him.

Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for He doesn’t keep the Sabbath!” But others were saying, “How can a sinful man perform such signs?” And there was a division among them.

Again a division took place among the Jews because of these words.

As for Me, if I am lifted up from the earth I will draw all people to Myself.”

When He came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him.

When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and knelt down before Him.

When Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around Him while He was by the sea.

The next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met Him.

Some Pharisees approached Him to test Him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”

They asked this to trap Him, in order that they might have evidence to accuse Him.

Jesus stooped down and started writing on the ground with His finger.

Just then an expert in the law stood up to test Him, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

And others, as a test, were demanding of Him a sign from heaven.

But detecting their craftiness, He said to them,

Just then, a woman who had suffered from bleeding for 12 years approached from behind and touched the tassel on His robe, for she said to herself, "If I can just touch His robe, I'll be made well!" But Jesus turned and saw her. "Have courage, daughter," He said. "Your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that moment.

Since He had healed many, all who had diseases were pressing toward Him to touch Him.

Once they crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. When the men of that place recognized Him, they alerted the whole vicinity and brought to Him all who were sick. They were begging Him that they might only touch the tassel on His robe. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.

The whole crowd was trying to touch Him, because power was coming out from Him and healing them all.

But there are some among you who don’t believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning those who would not believe and the one who would betray Him.)

For He knew who would betray Him. This is why He said, “You are not all clean.”

Then Jesus, knowing everything that was about to happen to Him, went out and said to them, “Who is it you’re looking for?”

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life—a ransom for many.”

For who is greater, the one at the table or the one serving? Isn’t it the one at the table? But I am among you as the One who serves.

So He got up from supper, laid aside His robe, took a towel, and tied it around Himself. Next, He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciples' feet and to dry them with the towel tied around Him.

Instead He emptied Himself
by assuming the form of a slave,
taking on the likeness of men.
And when He had come as a man
in His external form,

So they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested of him, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”

They found Him and said, “Everyone’s looking for You!”

When it was day, He went out and made His way to a deserted place. But the crowds were searching for Him. They came to Him and tried to keep Him from leaving them.

He was trying to see who Jesus was, but he was not able because of the crowd, since he was a short man.

When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor His disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum looking for Jesus.

Therefore I will give Him the many as a portion,
and He will receive the mighty as spoil,
because He submitted Himself to death,
and was counted among the rebels;
yet He bore the sin of many
and interceded for the rebels.

so also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.

He Himself bore our sins
in His body on the tree,
so that, having died to sins,
we might live for righteousness;
you have been healed by His wounds.

You know that He was revealed so that He might take away sins, and there is no sin in Him.

because He was teaching them like one who had authority, and not like their scribes.

Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Then they were all amazed, so they began to argue with one another, saying, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.”

And He has granted Him the right to pass judgment, because He is the Son of Man.

and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ—the righteousness from God based on faith.

But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became God-given wisdom for us—our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption,

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

One of His disciples, the one Jesus loved, was reclining close beside Jesus.

Now Jesus loved Martha, her sister, and Lazarus.

Jesus wept. So the Jews said, "See how He loved him!"

I do not call you slaves anymore, because a slave doesn’t know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from My Father.

Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus,

For

who has known the Lord’s mind,
that he may instruct Him?

But we have the mind of Christ.

Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, equip yourselves also with the same resolve—because the one who suffered in the flesh has finished with sin

At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to infants.

When all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized. As He was praying, heaven opened,

Jesus spoke these things, looked up to heaven, and said:

Father,
the hour has come.
Glorify Your Son
so that the Son may glorify You,

So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You heard Me.

But where can wisdom be found, and where is understanding located? No man can know its value, since it cannot be found in the land of the living. The ocean depths say, "It's not in me," while the sea declares, "I don't have it." read more.
Gold cannot be exchanged for it, and silver cannot be weighed out for its price. Wisdom cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, in precious onyx or sapphire. Gold and glass do not compare with it, and articles of fine gold cannot be exchanged for it. Coral and quartz are not worth mentioning. The price of wisdom is beyond pearls. Topaz from Cush cannot compare with it, and it cannot be valued in pure gold. Where then does wisdom come from, and where is understanding located? It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing and concealed from the birds of the sky. Abaddon and Death say, "We have heard news of it with our ears." But God understands the way to wisdom, and He knows its location. For He looks to the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. When God fixed the weight of the wind and limited the water by measure, when He established a limit for the rain and a path for the lightning, He considered wisdom and evaluated it; He established it and examined it. He said to mankind, "Look! The fear of the Lord-that is wisdom, and to turn from evil is understanding."

And we heard this voice when it came from heaven while we were with Him on the holy mountain.

He was transformed in front of them, and His face shone like the sun. Even His clothes became as white as the light.

After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up on a high mountain by themselves to be alone. He was transformed in front of them,

As He was praying, the appearance of His face changed, and His clothes became dazzling white.

After He had suffered, He also presented Himself alive to them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them during 40 days and speaking about the kingdom of God.

Then they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone and setting the guard.

Having said this, He showed them His hands and His side. So the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

Look at My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself! Touch Me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.”

Anyone who does not remain in Christ’s teaching but goes beyond it, does not have God. The one who remains in that teaching, this one has both the Father and the Son.

When Jesus had finished this sermon, the crowds were astonished at His teaching,

He taught them many things in parables, and in His teaching He said to them:

Jesus answered them, “My teaching isn’t Mine but is from the One who sent Me.

When they arrived, they went to the room upstairs where they were staying:

Peter, John,
James, Andrew,
Philip, Thomas,
Bartholomew, Matthew,
James the son of Alphaeus,
Simon the Zealot,
and Judas the son of James.

These are the names of the 12 apostles:

First, Simon, who is called Peter,
and Andrew his brother;
James the son of Zebedee,
and John his brother;

Simon, whom He also named Peter,
and Andrew his brother;
James and John;
Philip and Bartholomew;

He appointed the Twelve:

To Simon, He gave the name Peter;

When evening came, the disciples approached Him and said, “This place is a wilderness, and it is already late. Send the crowds away so they can go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”

Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke the loaves. He kept giving them to His disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.

Late in the day, the Twelve approached and said to Him, “Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find food and lodging, because we are in a deserted place here.”

Therefore, when Jesus looked up and noticed a huge crowd coming toward Him, He asked Philip, “Where will we buy bread so these people can eat?”

Jesus, however, would not entrust Himself to them, since He knew them all

Now we know that You know everything and don’t need anyone to question You. By this we believe that You came from God.”

He asked him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?”

Peter was grieved that He asked him the third time, “Do you love Me?” He said, “Lord, You know everything! You know that I love You.”

“Feed My sheep,” Jesus said.

Then they prayed, “You, Lord, know the hearts of all; show which of these two You have chosen

He got up and departed from there to the region of Tyre and Sidon. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it, but He could not escape notice.

Simon and his companions went searching for Him.

Then He went home, and the crowd gathered again so that they were not even able to eat.

but many saw them leaving and recognized them. People ran there by land from all the towns and arrived ahead of them.

When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were weary and worn out, like sheep without a shepherd.

As He stepped ashore, He saw a huge crowd, felt compassion for them, and healed their sick.

Now Jesus summoned His disciples and said, “I have compassion on the crowd, because they’ve already stayed with Me three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry; otherwise they might collapse on the way.”

Now the main point of what is being said is this: We have this kind of high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

But the Messiah has appeared, high priest of the good things that have come. In the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands (that is, not of this creation),

and since we have a great high priest over the house of God,

because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

Christ has liberated us to be free. Stand firm then and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Now He was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon came out, the man who had been mute, spoke, and the crowds were amazed.

For we are not proclaiming ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves because of Jesus.

We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!

It will pour into Judah,
flood over it, and sweep through,
reaching up to the neck;
and its spreading streams
will fill your entire land, Immanuel!

Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.

See, the virgin will become pregnant
and give birth to a son,
and they will name Him Immanuel,

which is translated “God is with us.”

Those who passed by were yelling insults at Him, shaking their heads

Let the Messiah, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe.” Even those who were crucified with Him were taunting Him.

Then one of the criminals hanging there began to yell insults at Him: “Aren’t You the Messiah? Save Yourself and us!”

Around three in the morning, He came toward them walking on the sea.

When they saw Him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out;

After they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea. He was coming near the boat, and they were afraid.

The next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met Him.

When they reached the crowd, a man approached and knelt down before Him.

Then it came out, shrieking and convulsing him violently. The boy became like a corpse, so that many said, “He’s dead.”

Then they were all amazed, so they began to argue with one another, saying, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.”

The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this?—even the winds and the sea obey Him!”

The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hands.

When Jesus went into Peter’s house, He saw his mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever.

So He went to her, took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she began to serve them.

After He left the synagogue, He entered Simon’s house. Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Him about her.

As He was telling them these things, suddenly one of the leaders came and knelt down before Him, saying, “My daughter is near death, but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.”

Immediately the girl got up and began to walk. (She was 12 years old.) At this they were utterly astounded.

Just then, a man named Jairus came. He was a leader of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus’ feet and pleaded with Him to come to his house,

But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, you of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm.

They came and woke Him up, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to die!” Then He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves. So they ceased, and there was a calm.

He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Silence! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Just then, a woman who had suffered from bleeding for 12 years approached from behind and touched the tassel on His robe,

A woman suffering from bleeding for 12 years

A woman suffering from bleeding for 12 years, who had spent all she had on doctors yet could not be healed by any,

For Jesus is considered worthy of more glory than Moses, just as the builder has more honor than the house.

Father,
I desire those You have given Me
to be with Me where I am.
Then they will see My glory,
which You have given Me
because You loved Me before the world’s foundation.

Now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence
with that glory I had with You
before the world existed.

He is not here! For He has been resurrected, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.

“Don’t be alarmed,” he told them. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has been resurrected! He is not here! See the place where they put Him.

“He is not here, but He has been resurrected! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren’t His sisters here with us?” So they were offended by Him.

When they heard this, everyone in the synagogue was enraged. They got up, drove Him out of town, and brought Him to the edge of the hill their town was built on, intending to hurl Him over the cliff.

But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

When all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized. As He was praying, heaven opened,

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be baptized by him.

In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John.

When he has brought all his own outside, he goes ahead of them. The sheep follow him because they recognize his voice.

My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me.

But I have other sheep that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock, one shepherd.

When He had come to the other side, to the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men met Him as they came out of the tombs. They were so violent that no one could pass that way.

Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gerasenes.

Then they sailed to the region of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee.

Reaching out His hand He touched him, saying, “I am willing; be made clean.” Immediately his disease was healed.

Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched him. “I am willing,” He told him. “Be made clean.”

Reaching out His hand, He touched him, saying, “I am willing; be made clean,” and immediately the disease left him.

There He saw a man who had a paralyzed hand. And in order to accuse Him they asked Him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

Now He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a paralyzed hand.

On another Sabbath He entered the synagogue and was teaching. A man was there whose right hand was paralyzed.

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.

Now grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of the Messiah’s gift.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

“You are a king then?” Pilate asked.

“You say that I’m a king,” Jesus replied. “I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.”

The Word became flesh
and took up residence among us.
We observed His glory,
the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father,
full of grace and truth.

Just then some men brought to Him a paralytic lying on a mat. Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, “Have courage, son, your sins are forgiven.”

Then they came to Him bringing a paralytic, carried by four men.

Just then some men came, carrying on a mat a man who was paralyzed. They tried to bring him in and set him down before Him.

The one who rejects Me and doesn’t accept My sayings has this as his judge: The word I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

He came to His own,
and His own people did not receive Him.

I have come in My Father’s name, yet you don’t accept Me. If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.

As He stepped ashore, He saw a huge crowd, felt compassion for them, and healed their sick.

Moving on from there, Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee. He went up on a mountain and sat there, and large crowds came to Him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, those unable to speak, and many others. They put them at His feet, and He healed them. So the crowd was amazed when they saw those unable to speak talking, the deformed restored, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they gave glory to the God of Israel.

Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath.

For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints. Amen.

and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

“Who are You, Lord?” he said.

“I am Jesus, the One you are persecuting,” He replied.

Last of all, as to one abnormally born,
He also appeared to me.

And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne
will shepherd them;
He will guide them to springs of living waters,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Jesus said to them, “I assure you: In the Messianic Age, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on 12 thrones, judging the 12 tribes of Israel.

“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Then Jesus came up, touched them, and said, “Get up; don’t be afraid.”

Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately they could see, and they followed Him.

Then He came up and touched the open coffin, and the pallbearers stopped. And He said, "Young man, I tell you, get up!" The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.

After He said this, He shouted with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The dead man came out bound hand and foot with linen strips and with his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Loose him and let him go."

Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:

The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
This came from the Lord
and is wonderful in our eyes?

At that, the whole town went out to meet Jesus. When they saw Him, they begged Him to leave their region.

As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be committed and repent.

Jesus answered, “Leave her alone; she has kept it for the day of My burial.

This has now been made evident
through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus,
who has abolished death
and has brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel.

that life was revealed,
and we have seen it
and we testify and declare to you
the eternal life that was with the Father
and was revealed to us

The one who doesn’t love Me will not keep My words. The word that you hear is not Mine but is from the Father who sent Me.

If anyone teaches other doctrine and does not agree with the sound teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching that promotes godliness,

Therefore, holy brothers and companions in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession;

Therefore, He had to be like His brothers in every way, so that He could become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. The dominion will be vast, and its prosperity will never end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from now on and forever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will accomplish this.

He was given authority to rule,
and glory, and a kingdom;
so that those of every people,
nation, and language
should serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
that will not pass away,
and His kingdom is one
that will not be destroyed.

They came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, Bartimaeus (the son of Timaeus), a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, shouting, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

There were two blind men sitting by the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and unable to speak was brought to Him. He healed him, so that the man could both speak and see.

Just as they were going out, a demon-possessed man who was unable to speak was brought to Him.

Now He was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon came out, the man who had been mute, spoke, and the crowds were amazed.

But He didn’t answer him on even one charge, so that the governor was greatly amazed.

And the chief priests began to accuse Him of many things.

He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet He did not open His mouth.
Like a lamb led to the slaughter
and like a sheep silent before her shearers,
He did not open His mouth.

He will not cry out or shout
or make His voice heard in the streets.

Instead, immediately after hearing about Him, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit came and fell at His feet.

Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came and kept crying out, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is cruelly tormented by a demon.”

Now Jesus summoned His disciples and said, “I have compassion on the crowd, because they’ve already stayed with Me three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry; otherwise they might collapse on the way.”

They ate and were filled. Then they collected seven large baskets of leftover pieces.

I am in them and You are in Me.
May they be made completely one,
so the world may know You have sent Me
and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

and who has been declared to be the powerful Son of God by the resurrection from the dead according to the Spirit of holiness.

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of His nature, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

For we have found this man to be a plague, an agitator among all the Jews throughout the Roman world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes!

Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets, that He will be called a Nazarene.

A voice of one crying out:

Prepare the way of the Lord in the wilderness;
make a straight highway for our God in the desert.

Thomas responded to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

Some people were bringing little children to Him so He might touch them, but His disciples rebuked them.

After taking them in His arms, He laid His hands on them and blessed them.

For He must reign until He puts all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy to be abolished is death.

He will destroy death forever.
The Lord God will wipe away the tears
from every face
and remove His people’s disgrace
from the whole earth,
for the Lord has spoken.

because You will not leave me in Hades
or allow Your Holy One to see decay.

Know and understand this:
From the issuing of the decree
to restore and rebuild Jerusalem
until Messiah the Prince
will be seven weeks and 62 weeks.
It will be rebuilt with a plaza and a moat,
but in difficult times.

He first found his own brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which means “Anointed One”),

He said to them, “How unwise and slow you are to believe in your hearts all that the prophets have spoken!

Jesus replied, “You unbelieving and rebellious generation! How long will I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here.”

When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said, “Don’t cry.”

Jesus wept.

When He entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,

A centurion’s slave, who was highly valued by him, was sick and about to die.

“He is not here, but He has been resurrected! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have the right to lay it down, and I have the right to take it up again. I have received this command from My Father.”

“What things?” He asked them.

So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a Prophet powerful in action and speech before God and all the people,

Moses said:

The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He will say to you.

Many of them were saying, “He has a demon and He’s crazy! Why do you listen to Him?”

“You have a demon!” the crowd responded. “Who wants to kill You?”

So He took him away from the crowd privately. After putting His fingers in the man’s ears and spitting, He touched his tongue.

Immediately his ears were opened, his speech difficulty was removed, and he began to speak clearly.

He has raised up a horn of salvation for us
in the house of His servant David,

For my eyes have seen Your salvation.

And the unclean spirit convulsed him, shouted with a loud voice, and came out of him.

But Jesus rebuked him and said, “Be quiet and come out of him!”

And throwing him down before them, the demon came out of him without hurting him at all.

W My love is fit and strong,
notable among ten thousand.

The boy grew up and became strong, filled with wisdom, and God’s grace was on Him.

for the law was given through Moses,
grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

I am a rose of Sharon,
a lily of the valleys.

Life was in Him,
and that life was the light of men.

For just as the Father has life in Himself, so also He has granted to the Son to have life in Himself.

So it is written: The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.

For Christ’s love compels us, since we have reached this conclusion: If One died for all, then all died.

For no one can lay any other foundation than what has been laid down. That foundation is Jesus Christ.

Then He appeared to over 500 brothers at one time;
most of them are still alive,
but some have fallen asleep.

Then He appeared to James,
then to all the apostles.

that He was buried,
that He was raised on the third day
according to the Scriptures,

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come.

For no one can lay any other foundation than what has been laid down. That foundation is Jesus Christ.

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to evangelize—not with clever words, so that the cross of Christ will not be emptied of its effect.

and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.

and that He appeared to Cephas,
then to the Twelve.

God is faithful; you were called by Him into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

and that the Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith. [I pray that] you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth [of God's love], and to know the Messiah's love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though He was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich.

I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, appointing me to the ministry- one who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. Since it was out of ignorance that I had acted in unbelief, I received mercy,

In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to attest these things to you for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star.”

The high priest then stood up and said to Him, "Don't You have an answer to what these men are testifying against You?" But Jesus kept silent. Then the high priest said to Him, "By the living God I place You under oath: tell us if You are the Messiah, the Son of God!"

For I have often told you, and now say again with tears, that many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.

When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. He laid His right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last,

Then He touched their eyes, saying, "Let it be done for you according to your faith!" And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus warned them sternly, "Be sure that no one finds out!"

Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Me.

His feet were like fine bronze as it is fired in a furnace, and His voice like the sound of cascading waters.

and the Living One. I was dead, but look—I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and Hades.

Therefore since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens-Jesus the Son of God-let us hold fast to the confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tested in every way as we are, yet without sin.

and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ—the righteousness from God based on faith.

God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Me.

More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them filth, so that I may gain Christ

He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the cross.

They said with a loud voice:

The Lamb who was slaughtered is worthy

everything to Himself
by making peace
through the blood of His cross

All those who live on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name was not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slaughtered.

God will bring this about in His own time. He is

the blessed and only Sovereign,
the King of kings,

the King of kings,

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!

I know your works. Because you have limited strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name, look, I have placed before you an open door that no one is able to close.

I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim
and the horse from Jerusalem.
The bow of war will be removed,
and He will proclaim peace to the nations.
His dominion will extend from sea to sea,
from the Euphrates River
to the ends of the earth.

and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

He did this so that He might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross and put the hostility to death by it.

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the One who is, who was, and who is coming, the Almighty.”

and large crowds came to Him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, those unable to speak, and many others. They put them at His feet, and He healed them.

Then He withdrew from them about a stone's throw, knelt down, and began to pray, "Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me-nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done." [

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there among them.”

Taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.

When they saw Him, they worshiped, but some doubted.

Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus—the great Shepherd of the sheep—with the blood of the everlasting covenant,

"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.

Going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.”

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God!”

This is why the Father loves Me, because I am laying down My life so I may take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have the right to lay it down, and I have the right to take it up again. I have received this command from My Father."

Then Jesus replied to her, “Woman, your faith is great. Let it be done for you as you want.” And from that moment her daughter was cured.

Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately they could see, and they followed Him.

Anyone finding his life will lose it, and anyone losing his life because of Me will find it.

You will be hated by everyone because of My name. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered.

All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves.

And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

When he found one priceless pearl, he went and sold everything he had, and bought it.

For the Son of Man is going to come with His angels in the glory of His Father, and then He will reward each according to what he has done.

And the crowds kept saying, “This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee!”

Here is My Servant whom I have chosen,
My beloved in whom My soul delights;
I will put My Spirit on Him,
and He will proclaim justice to the nations.

For there is one God
and one mediator between God and humanity,
Christ Jesus, Himself human,

Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem!
Look, your King is coming to you;
He is righteous and victorious,
humble and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? Look, now you’ve heard the blasphemy!

One of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at His feet and kept begging Him, "My little daughter is at death's door. Come and lay Your hands on her so she can get well and live."

And a woman in the town who was a sinner found out that Jesus was reclining at the table in the Pharisee's house. She brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil and stood behind Him at His feet, weeping, and began to wash His feet with her tears. She wiped His feet with the hair of her head, kissing them and anointing them with the fragrant oil.

So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then she got up and began to serve Him.

But the news about Him spread even more, and large crowds would come together to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses. Yet He often withdrew to deserted places and prayed.

After He said good-bye to them, He went away to the mountain to pray. When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and He was alone on the land.

Therefore, He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.

Therefore I will give Him the many as a portion,
and He will receive the mighty as spoil,
because He submitted Himself to death,
and was counted among the rebels;
yet He bore the sin of many
and interceded for the rebels.

Therefore Jesus said to the Twelve, "You don't want to go away too, do you?" Simon Peter answered, "Lord, who will we go to? You have the words of eternal life.

He saw that there was no man—
He was amazed that there was no one interceding;
so His own arm brought salvation,
and His own righteousness supported Him.

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life.

For you were like sheep going astray,
but you have now returned

The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.

He protects His flock like a shepherd;
He gathers the lambs in His arms
and carries them in the fold of His garment.
He gently leads those that are nursing.

Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come out-those who have done good things, to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked things, to the resurrection of judgment.

so also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.

Hearing this, Jesus was amazed and said to those following Him, “I assure you: I have not found anyone in Israel with so great a faith!

When He entered the house, the blind men approached Him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I can do this?”

“Yes, Lord,” they answered Him.

As He was telling them these things, suddenly one of the leaders came and knelt down before Him, saying, “My daughter is near death, but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.”

“You are blessed when they insult and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me.

Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because He has become a high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

Now that He has gone into heaven, He is at God’s right hand with angels, authorities, and powers subject to Him.

Now a man was sick, Lazarus, from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, and it was her brother Lazarus who was sick. So the sisters sent a message to Him: "Lord, the one You love is sick." read more.
When Jesus heard it, He said, "This sickness will not end in death but is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it." (Jesus loved Martha, her sister, and Lazarus.) So when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was. Then after that, He said to the disciples, "Let's go to Judea again." "Rabbi," the disciples told Him, "just now the Jews tried to stone You, and You're going there again?" "Aren't there 12 hours in a day?" Jesus answered. "If anyone walks during the day, he doesn't stumble, because he sees the light of this world. If anyone walks during the night, he does stumble, because the light is not in him." He said this, and then He told them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I'm on My way to wake him up." Then the disciples said to Him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well." Jesus, however, was speaking about his death, but they thought He was speaking about natural sleep. So Jesus then told them plainly, "Lazarus has died. I'm glad for you that I wasn't there so that you may believe. But let's go to him." Then Thomas (called "Twin") said to his fellow disciples, "Let's go so that we may die with Him." When Jesus arrived, He found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. Bethany was near Jerusalem (about two miles away). Many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them about their brother. As soon as Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet Him. But Mary remained seated in the house. Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother wouldn't have died. Yet even now I know that whatever You ask from God, God will give You." "Your brother will rise again," Jesus told her. Martha said, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live. Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die-ever. Do you believe this?" "Yes, Lord," she told Him, "I believe You are the Messiah, the Son of God, who was to come into the world." Having said this, she went back and called her sister Mary, saying in private, "The Teacher is here and is calling for you." As soon as she heard this, she got up quickly and went to Him. Jesus had not yet come into the village but was still in the place where Martha had met Him. The Jews who were with her in the house consoling her saw that Mary got up quickly and went out. So they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to cry there. When Mary came to where Jesus was and saw Him, she fell at His feet and told Him, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died!" When Jesus saw her crying, and the Jews who had come with her crying, He was angry in His spirit and deeply moved. "Where have you put him?" He asked. "Lord," they told Him, "come and see." Jesus wept. So the Jews said, "See how He loved him!" But some of them said, "Couldn't He who opened the blind man's eyes also have kept this man from dying?" Then Jesus, angry in Himself again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone was lying against it. "Remove the stone," Jesus said. Martha, the dead man's sister, told Him, "Lord, he already stinks. It's been four days." Jesus said to her, "Didn't I tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?" So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You heard Me. I know that You always hear Me, but because of the crowd standing here I said this, so they may believe You sent Me." After He said this, He shouted with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The dead man came out bound hand and foot with linen strips and with his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Loose him and let him go."

But He turned and rebuked them, and they went to another village.

When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were weary and worn out, like sheep without a shepherd.

He protects His flock like a shepherd;
He gathers the lambs in His arms
and carries them in the fold of His garment.

While He was reclining at the table in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came as guests to eat with Jesus and His disciples.

He stayed there until Herod’s death, so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled: Out of Egypt I called My Son.

Jesus told him, “Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.”

And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written:

The Liberator will come from Zion;
He will turn away godlessness from Jacob.

the Lord is our lawgiver,

He will save us.

Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets, that He will be called a Nazarene.

This is how we have come to know love: He laid down His life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers.

When Mary came to where Jesus was and saw Him, she fell at His feet and told Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died!”

But Mary stood outside facing the tomb, crying. As she was crying, she stooped to look into the tomb.

The one who rejects Me and doesn’t accept My sayings has this as his judge: The word I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

Jesus answered, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

Then they all cried out together, “Take this man away! Release Barabbas to us!”

No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have the right to lay it down, and I have the right to take it up again. I have received this command from My Father.”

Now I am coming to You,
and I speak these things in the world
so that they may have My joy completed in them.

“I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.”

“Why were you searching for Me?” He asked them. “Didn’t you know that I had to be in My Father’s house?”

But He said to them, “I must proclaim the good news about the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because I was sent for this purpose.”

I pray for them.
I am not praying for the world
but for those You have given Me,
because they are Yours.

After this, Jesus revealed Himself again to His disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. He revealed Himself in this way:

[Early on the first day of the week, after He had risen, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had driven seven demons.

“Even if I testify about Myself,” Jesus replied, “My testimony is valid, because I know where I came from and where I’m going. But you don’t know where I come from or where I’m going.

“But I have a greater testimony than John’s because of the works that the Father has given Me to accomplish. These very works I am doing testify about Me that the Father has sent Me.

You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, yet they testify about Me.

I have seen and testified that He is the Son of God!”

The Father who sent Me has Himself testified about Me. You have not heard His voice at any time, and you haven’t seen His form.

Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them. His mother kept all these things in her heart.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He got up, went out, and made His way to a deserted place. And He was praying there.

I have revealed Your name
to the men You gave Me from the world.
They were Yours, You gave them to Me,
and they have kept Your word.

The police answered, “No man ever spoke like this!”

I assure you: If anyone keeps My word, he will never see death—ever!”

The Spirit is the One who gives life. The flesh doesn’t help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

I will show him how much he must suffer for My name!”

“Cast the net on the right side of the boat,” He told them, “and you’ll find some.” So they did, and they were unable to haul it in because of the large number of fish.

Soon afterward He was on His way to a town called Nain. His disciples and a large crowd were traveling with Him.

So He took him away from the crowd privately. After putting His fingers in the man’s ears and spitting, He touched his tongue.

There in front of Him was a man whose body was swollen with fluid.

Then He went again to Cana of Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. There was a certain royal official whose son was ill at Capernaum.

As He was passing by, He saw a man blind from birth.

Then He said, “I assure you: You will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

One Sabbath, when He went to eat at the house of one of the leading Pharisees, they were watching Him closely.

The Word became flesh
and took up residence among us.
We observed His glory,
the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father,
full of grace and truth.

Peter and those with him were in a deep sleep, and when they became fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who were standing with Him.

While He was in Bethany at the house of Simon who had a serious skin disease, as He was reclining at the table, a woman came with an alabaster jar of pure and expensive fragrant oil of nard. She broke the jar and poured it on His head.

The One and Only Son
the One who is at the Father’s side
He has revealed Him.

He has raised up a horn of salvation for us
in the house of His servant David,

There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people, and we must be saved by it.”

Then one of the Pharisees invited Him to eat with him. He entered the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.

Jesus said to them, “I assure you: Moses didn’t give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the real bread from heaven.

All who saw it began to complain, “He’s gone to lodge with a sinful man!”

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Here is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

When His family heard this, they set out to restrain Him, because they said, “He’s out of His mind.”

When he has found it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders,

We must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work.

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.

Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, worn out from His journey, sat down at the well. It was about six in the evening.

for 40 days to be tempted by the Devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they were over, He was hungry.

They asked this to trap Him, in order that they might have evidence to accuse Him.

Jesus stooped down and started writing on the ground with His finger.

Jesus heard this and was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following Him, He said, “I tell you, I have not found so great a faith even in Israel!”

When the chief servant tasted the water (after it had become wine), he did not know where it came from—though the servants who had drawn the water knew. He called the groom

All things were created through Him,
and apart from Him not one thing was created
that has been created.

to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, serving as a priest of God’s good news. My purpose is that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

A person should consider us in this way: as servants of Christ and managers of God’s mysteries.

He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of suffering who knew what sickness was.
He was like someone people turned away from;
He was despised, and we didn’t value Him.

They twisted together a crown of thorns, put it on His head, and placed a reed in His right hand. And they knelt down before Him and mocked Him: “Hail, King of the Jews!”

But I am a worm and not a man,
scorned by men and despised by people.

By faith, after Moses was born, he was hidden by his parents for three months, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they didn’t fear the king’s edict.

“You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit; as your ancestors did, so do you.

So Pilate said to Him, "You're not talking to me? Don't You know that I have the authority to release You and the authority to crucify You?" "You would have no authority over Me at all," Jesus answered him, "if it hadn't been given you from above. This is why the one who handed Me over to you has the greater sin."

for we are unable to stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees Him who is invisible.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Here is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Yahweh, You are my God;
I will exalt You. I will praise Your name,
for You have accomplished wonders,
plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.

The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high;
He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.

Be exalted, Lord, in Your strength;
we will sing and praise Your might.

The nobles of the peoples have assembled
with the people of the God of Abraham.
For the leaders of the earth belong to God;
He is greatly exalted.

God, be exalted above the heavens;
let Your glory be over the whole earth.

Exalt the Lord our God;
bow in worship at His footstool.
He is holy.

God, be exalted above the heavens,
and let Your glory be over the whole earth.

You are my God, and I will give You thanks.
You are my God; I will exalt You.

and on that day you will say:
“Give thanks to Yahweh; proclaim His name!
Celebrate His works among the peoples.
Declare that His name is exalted.

Therefore the Lord God said:
“Look, I have laid a stone in Zion,
a tested stone,
a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation;
the one who believes will be unshakable.

For no one can lay any other foundation than what has been laid down. That foundation is Jesus Christ.

When they had completed everything according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.

Jesus was going all over Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

But after I have been resurrected, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”

Then go quickly and tell His disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead. In fact, He is going ahead of you to Galilee; you will see Him there.’ Listen, I have told you.”

As He was walking along the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, since they were fishermen.

Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and He called them.

Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A servant approached him and she said, “You were with Jesus the Galilean too.”

So He went into all of Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

And He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.

When Jesus knew that the Pharisees heard He was making and baptizing more disciples than John

Nevertheless, the gloom of the distressed land will not be like that of the former times when He humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali. But in the future He will bring honor to the Way of the Sea, to the land east of the Jordan, and to Galilee of the nations. The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of darkness, a light has dawned.

When they entered Galilee, the Galileans welcomed Him because they had seen everything He did in Jerusalem during the festival. For they also had gone to the festival.

For the Messiah did not enter a sanctuary made with hands (only a model of the true one) but into heaven itself, so that He might now appear in the presence of God for us.

Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because He has become a high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

He entered the most holy place once for all, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.

Heaven must welcome Him until the times of the restoration of all things, which God spoke about by the mouth of His holy prophets from the beginning.

Now that He has gone into heaven, He is at God’s right hand with angels, authorities, and powers subject to Him.

Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in His steps. He did not commit sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth;

Husbands, love your wives, just as also Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her, to make her holy, cleansing her in the washing of water by the word. He did this to present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but holy and blameless.

Sanctify them by the truth;
Your word is truth.

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you won’t grow weary and lose heart.

When Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in His hand. Joshua approached Him and asked, "Are You for us or for our enemies?" "Neither," He replied. "I have now come as commander of the Lord's army." Then Joshua bowed with his face to the ground in worship and asked Him, "What does my Lord want to say to His servant?" The commander of the Lord's army said to Joshua, "Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy." And Joshua did so.

They appeared in glory and were speaking of His death, which He was about to accomplish in Jerusalem.

For the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers, since they did not recognize Him or the voices of the prophets that are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled their words by condemning Him.

When they had fulfilled all that had been written about Him, they took Him down from the tree and put Him in a tomb.

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem! She who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, yet you were not willing!

As He approached and saw the city, He wept over it,

Then the crowds who went ahead of Him and those who followed kept shouting: Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven! When He entered Jerusalem, the whole city was shaken, saying, "Who is this?"

During the day, He was teaching in the temple complex, but in the evening He would go out and spend the night on what is called the Mount of Olives. Then all the people would come early in the morning to hear Him in the temple complex.

Oh, that Israel’s deliverance would come from Zion!
When the Lord restores the fortunes of His people,
Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad.

“What do you want?” He asked her.

“Promise,” she said to Him, “that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right and the other on Your left, in Your kingdom.”

But we were hoping that He was the One who was about to redeem Israel. Besides all this, it’s the third day since these things happened.

So when they had come together, they asked Him, “Lord, are You restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?”

Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren’t His sisters here with us?” So they were offended by Him.

He was despised and rejected by men,

He was like someone people turned away from;
He was despised, and we didn’t value Him.

He came to His own,

Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They even killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become.

who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets and persecuted us; they displease God and are hostile to everyone,

Know and understand this:
From the issuing of the decree
to restore and rebuild Jerusalem
until Messiah the Prince
will be seven weeks and 62 weeks.
It will be rebuilt with a plaza and a moat,
but in difficult times.

The scepter will not depart from Judah
or the staff from between his feet
until He whose right it is comes
and the obedience of the peoples belongs to Him.

The ancestors are theirs, and from them, by physical descent, came the Messiah, who is God over all, praised forever. Amen.

Now it is evident that our Lord came from Judah, and Moses said nothing about that tribe concerning priests.

Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them—this is the Law and the Prophets.

He said to him, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. read more.
All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments."

“Don’t assume that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

The Lord was pleased, because of His righteousness,
to magnify His instruction and make it glorious.

The Holy Spirit was making it clear that the way into the most holy place had not yet been disclosed while the first tabernacle was still standing.

Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come, and not the actual form of those realities, it can never perfect the worshipers by the same sacrifices they continually offer year after year.

Now the Messiah has appeared, high priest of the good things that have come. In the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands (that is, not of this creation), He entered the holy of holies once for all, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who are defiled, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, read more.
how much more will the blood of the Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

Now every priest stands day after day ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this man, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God. He is now waiting until His enemies are made His footstool. read more.
For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are sanctified.

On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, he should come to Me and drink!

While He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many trusted in His name when they saw the signs He was doing.

The Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near,

After His brothers had gone up to the festival, then He also went up, not openly but secretly.

you are not to leave his corpse on the tree overnight but are to bury him that day, for anyone hung on a tree is under God’s curse. You must not defile the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written: Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.

For I say that the Messiah became a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises to the fathers,

When the eight days were completed for His circumcision, He was named Jesus—the name given by the angel before He was conceived.

"Don't assume that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For I assure you: Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass from the law until all things are accomplished.

When the time came to completion, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

The Lord was pleased, because of His righteousness,
to magnify His instruction and make it glorious.

Then I said, "See, I have come; it is written about me in the volume of the scroll. I delight to do Your will, my God; Your instruction resides within me."

Therefore, my brothers, you also were put to death in relation to the law through the crucified body of the Messiah, so that you may belong to another—to Him who was raised from the dead—that we may bear fruit for God.

He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the river crashed against that house and couldn’t shake it, because it was well built.

She had a sister named Mary, who also sat at the Lord’s feet and was listening to what He said.

Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things.

For you have died, and your life is hidden with the Messiah in God.

He reveals the deep and hidden things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
and light dwells with Him.

Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction,
and he meditates on it day and night.

may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth [of God's love], and to know the Messiah's love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Furthermore, he must have a good reputation among outsiders, so that he does not fall into disgrace and the Devil’s trap.

Just one thing: Live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind, working side by side for the faith that comes from the gospel,

Who is wise and has understanding among you? He should show his works by good conduct with wisdom’s gentleness.

Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness

so that you may walk properly in the presence of outsiders and not be dependent on anyone.

Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die—ever. Do you believe this?”

This has now been made evident
through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus,
who has abolished death
and has brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel.

And He said to him, “I assure you: Today you will be with Me in paradise.”

I assure you: If anyone keeps My word, he will never see death—ever!”

Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.

He is not God of the dead but of the living. You are badly deceived.”

“You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden.

“No one lights a lamp and puts it in the cellar or under a basket, but on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see its light.

For I think God has displayed us, the apostles, in last place, like men condemned to die: We have become a spectacle to the world and to angels and to men.

This has now been made evident
through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus,
who has abolished death
and has brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel.

that life was revealed,
and we have seen it
and we testify and declare to you
the eternal life that was with the Father
and was revealed to us

Life was in Him,
and that life was the light of men.

For just as the Father has life in Himself, so also He has granted to the Son to have life in Himself.

The one who has the Son has life. The one who doesn’t have the Son of God does not have life.

so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live.

A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.

They all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.

Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me.

Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, Jesus also shared in these, so that through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death—that is, the Devil

The Word became flesh
and took up residence among us.
We observed His glory,
the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father,
full of grace and truth.

For it is clear that He does not reach out to help angels, but to help Abraham’s offspring.

For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also comes through a man. For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

The first man was from the earth
and made of dust;
the second man is from heaven.

But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of the woman, and God is the head of Christ.

He humbled Himself by becoming obedient
to the point of death—
even to death on a cross.

Instead He emptied Himself
by assuming the form of a slave,
taking on the likeness of men.
And when He had come as a man
in His external form,

Each will be like a shelter from the wind,
a refuge from the rain,
like streams of water in a dry land
and the shade of a massive rock in an arid land.

“Men of Israel, listen to these words: This Jesus the Nazarene was a man pointed out to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that God did among you through Him, just as you yourselves know.

and because He did not need anyone to testify about man; for He Himself knew what was in man.

Jesus said to them, "I assure you: Moses didn't give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the real bread from heaven. For the bread of God is the One who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." Then they said, "Sir, give us this bread always!" read more.
"I am the bread of life," Jesus told them. "No one who comes to Me will ever be hungry, and no one who believes in Me will ever be thirsty again.

God presented Him as a propitiation through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His restraint God passed over the sins previously committed.

Behind the second curtain, the tabernacle was called the most holy place.

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.”

And the Pharisees and scribes were complaining, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them!”

All who saw it began to complain, “He’s gone to lodge with a sinful man!”

But the Pharisees and their scribes were complaining to His disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

Therefore the Jews started complaining about Him, because He said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven." They were saying, "Isn't this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can He now say, 'I have come down from heaven' ?" Jesus answered them, "Stop complaining among yourselves.

At that, the Jews argued among themselves, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”

For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

If you know that He is righteous, you know this as well: Everyone who does what is right has been born of Him.

>

Though He was God’s Son, He learned obedience through what He suffered.

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from You." But He answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

Then the disciples came up and told Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard this statement?”

Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him?

Some Pharisees approached Him to test Him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife on any grounds?”

And one of them, an expert in the law, asked a question to test Him:

Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to trap Him by what He said. They sent their disciples to Him, with the Herodians. "Teacher," they said, "we know that You are truthful and teach truthfully the way of God. You defer to no one, for You don't show partiality.

The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and scoffing at Him.

When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard His parables, they knew He was speaking about them.

Then the disciples came up and told Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard this statement?”

When the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, “This man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching Him—she’s a sinner!”

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

All the tax collectors and sinners were approaching to listen to Him. And the Pharisees and scribes were complaining, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them!"

Then Jesus told them, “Watch out and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

Why is it you don't understand that when I told you, 'Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees,' it wasn't about bread?" Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the yeast in bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Blind guides! You strain out a gnat, yet gulp down a camel!

Blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the sanctuary that sanctified the gold?

The Pharisees and Sadducees approached, and as a test, asked Him to show them a sign from heaven.

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”

Then one of the Pharisees invited Him to eat with him. He entered the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.

As He was speaking, a Pharisee asked Him to dine with him. So He went in and reclined at the table.

"But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You lock up the kingdom of heaven from people. For you don't go in, and you don't allow those entering to go in. [ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You devour widows' houses and make long prayers just for show. This is why you will receive a harsher punishment.] "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to make one proselyte, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as fit for hell as you are! read more.
"Woe to you, blind guides, who say, 'Whoever takes an oath by the sanctuary, it means nothing. But whoever takes an oath by the gold of the sanctuary is bound by his oath.' Blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the sanctuary that sanctified the gold? Also, 'Whoever takes an oath by the altar, it means nothing. But whoever takes an oath by the gift that is on it is bound by his oath.' Blind people! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? Therefore the one who takes an oath by the altar takes an oath by it and by everything on it. The one who takes an oath by the sanctuary takes an oath by it and by Him who dwells in it. And the one who takes an oath by heaven takes an oath by God's throne and by Him who sits on it. "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You pay a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, yet you have neglected the more important matters of the law-justice, mercy, and faith. These things should have been done without neglecting the others. Blind guides! You strain out a gnat, yet gulp down a camel! "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence! Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup, so the outside of it may also become clean. "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men's bones and every impurity. In the same way, on the outside you seem righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, and you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we wouldn't have taken part with them in shedding the prophets' blood.' You therefore testify against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers' sins! "Snakes! Brood of vipers! How can you escape being condemned to hell?

But He answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

“Snakes! Brood of vipers! How can you escape being condemned to hell?

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and every impurity.

For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

When Jesus knew that the Pharisees heard He was making and baptizing more disciples than John (though Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples were), He left Judea and went again to Galilee.

“Woe to you! You are like unmarked graves; the people who walk over them don’t know it.”

The scribes and Pharisees were watching Him closely, to see if He would heal on the Sabbath, so that they could find a charge against Him.

The One who sent Me is with Me. He has not left Me alone, because I always do what pleases Him.”

Jesus told him, “Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.”

Moving on from there, He entered their synagogue.

He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. As usual, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read.

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there among them.”

Again, I assure you: If two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven.

Now every priest stands day after day ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this man, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.

Why then was the law given? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise was made would come. The law was put into effect through angels by means of a mediator.

Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say “and to seeds,” as though referring to many, but referring to one, and to your seed, who is Christ.

When your time comes and you rest with your fathers, I will raise up after you your descendant, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He will build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

Since I called out and you refused,
extended my hand and no one paid attention,

“But My people did not listen to Me;
Israel did not obey Me.

Therefore, the person who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who also gives you His Holy Spirit.

But since the Pharisees and experts in the law had not been baptized by him, they rejected the plan of God for themselves.)

But the Lord told him, “Listen to the people and everything they say to you. They have not rejected you; they have rejected Me as their king.

For you know that later, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected because he didn’t find any opportunity for repentance, though he sought it with tears.

For rebellion is like the sin of divination,
and defiance is like wickedness and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He has rejected you as king.

So the Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel, afflicted them, and handed them over to plunderers until He had banished them from His presence.

“But he replied, ‘I assure you: I do not know you!’

But He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know you or where you’re from. Get away from Me, all you workers of unrighteousness!’

Then they all cried out together, “Take this man away! Release Barabbas to us!”

The One who sent Me is with Me. He has not left Me alone, because I always do what pleases Him.”

And He said, “Abba, Father! All things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”

At that, Jesus said to Peter, “Sheathe your sword! Am I not to drink the cup the Father has given Me?”

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.

Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the graves will hear His voice

This is the will of Him who sent Me: that I should lose none of those He has given Me but should raise them up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day."

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’

Those who passed by were yelling insults at Him, shaking their heads

but He will judge the poor righteously
and execute justice for the oppressed of the land.
He will strike the land
with discipline from His mouth,
and He will kill the wicked
with a command from His lips.

because He has set a day when He is going to judge the world in righteousness by the Man He has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”

Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness.

He will judge Your people with righteousness
and Your afflicted ones with justice.

but to the Son:

Your throne, God,
is forever and ever,
and the scepter of Your kingdom
is a scepter of justice.

Your throne, God, is forever and ever;
the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of justice.

Indeed, a king will reign righteously,
and rulers will rule justly.

In His days Judah will be saved,
and Israel will dwell securely.
This is what He will be named:
Yahweh Our Righteousness.

The mighty King loves justice.
You have established fairness;
You have administered justice
and righteousness in Jacob.

You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy
more than your companions.

You have loved righteousness
and hated lawlessness;
this is why God, Your God,
has anointed You
with the oil of joy
rather than Your companions.

But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became God-given wisdom for us—our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption,

He put on righteousness like a breastplate,
and a helmet of salvation on His head;
He put on garments of vengeance for clothing,
and He wrapped Himself in zeal as in a cloak.

He saw that there was no man—
He was amazed that there was no one interceding;
so His own arm brought salvation,
and His own righteousness supported Him.

Jesus answered him, “Allow it for now, because this is the way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him to be baptized.

Seventy weeks are decreed
about your people and your holy city—
to bring the rebellion to an end,
to put a stop to sin,
to wipe away iniquity,
to bring in everlasting righteousness,
to seal up vision and prophecy,
and to anoint the most holy place.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Righteousness will be a belt around His loins;
faithfulness will be a belt around His waist.

But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall.

I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly;
see, I do not keep my mouth closed
as You know, Lord.

Before the day breaks
and the shadows flee,
turn to me, my love, and be like a gazelle
or a young stag on the divided mountains.

>

My love is like a gazelle
or a young stag.
Look, he is standing behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
peering through the lattice.

Then He went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbath.

On another Sabbath He entered the synagogue and was teaching. A man was there whose right hand was paralyzed.

He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. As usual, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read.

Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

"Teacher, Moses said, if a man dies, having no children, his brother is to marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. Now there were seven brothers among us. The first got married and died. Having no offspring, he left his wife to his brother. The same happened to the second also, and the third, and so to all seven. read more.
Then last of all the woman died. Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had married her." Jesus answered them, "You are deceived, because you don't know the Scriptures or the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like angels in heaven. Now concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven't you read what was spoken to you by God: I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob ? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

"Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies , leaves his wife behind, and leaves no child, his brother should take the wife and produce offspring for his brother. There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying, left no offspring. The second also took her, and he died, leaving no offspring. And the third likewise. read more.
The seven also left no offspring. Last of all, the woman died too. In the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be, since the seven had married her?" Jesus told them, "Are you not deceived because you don't know the Scriptures or the power of God? For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like angels in heaven. Now concerning the dead being raised-haven't you read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him: I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob ? He is not God of the dead but of the living. You are badly deceived."

When the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they came together.

The Pharisees and Sadducees approached, and as a test, asked Him to show them a sign from heaven.

[For the Son of Man has come to save the lost.]

This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them.

Therefore, He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.

Who is this coming from Edom
in crimson-stained garments from Bozrah—
this One who is splendid in His apparel,
rising up proudly in His great might?

It is I, proclaiming vindication,
powerful to save.

“Today salvation has come to this house,” Jesus told him, “because he too is a son of Abraham.

Look, the Lord has proclaimed
to the ends of the earth,
“Say to Daughter Zion:
Look, your salvation is coming,
His reward is with Him,
and His gifts accompany Him.”

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem!
Look, your King is coming to you;
He is righteous and victorious,
humble and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

For in bringing many sons to glory, it was entirely appropriate that God—all things exist for Him and through Him—should make the source of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life.

After He was perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him,

He says,
“It is not enough for you to be My Servant
raising up the tribes of Jacob
and restoring the protected ones of Israel.
I will also make you a light for the nations,
to be My salvation to the ends of the earth.”

God exalted this man to His right hand as ruler and Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

He has raised up a horn of salvation for us
in the house of His servant David,

For the One who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers,

Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, so that He might sanctify the people by His own blood.

“See, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. Then the Lord you seek will suddenly come to His temple, the Messenger of the covenant you desire—see, He is coming,” says the Lord of Hosts.

When the angels had left them and returned to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go straight to Bethlehem and see what has happened, which the Lord has made known to us." They hurried off and found both Mary and Joseph, and the baby who was lying in the feeding trough.

“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work,” Jesus told them.

Before the Passover Festival, Jesus knew that His hour had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

You are the most handsome of men; grace flows from your lips. Therefore God has blessed you forever. Mighty warrior, strap your sword at your side. In your majesty and splendor- in your splendor ride triumphantly in the cause of truth, humility, and justice. May your right hand show your awe-inspiring deeds. read more.
Your arrows pierce the hearts of the king's enemies; the peoples fall under you. Your throne, God, is forever and ever; the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of justice. You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you, more than your companions, with the oil of joy. Myrrh, aloes, and cassia [perfume] all your garments; from ivory palaces harps bring you joy. Kings' daughters are among your honored women; the queen, adorned with gold from Ophir, stands at your right hand. Listen, daughter, pay attention and consider: forget your people and your father's house, and the king will desire your beauty. Bow down to him, for he is your lord. The daughter of Tyre, the wealthy people, will seek your favor with gifts. In [her chamber], the royal daughter is all glorious, her clothing embroidered with gold. In colorful garments she is led to the king; after her, the virgins, her companions, are brought to you. They are led in with gladness and rejoicing; they enter the king's palace. Your sons will succeed your ancestors; you will make them princes throughout the land. I will cause your name to be remembered for all generations; therefore the peoples will praise you forever and ever.

Jesus answered, “Destroy this sanctuary, and I will raise it up in three days.”

But He was speaking about the sanctuary of His body.

Then He replied to them, “Don’t you see all these things? I assure you: Not one stone will be left here on another that will not be thrown down!”

Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left here on another that will not be thrown down!”

“These things that you see—the days will come when not one stone will be left on another that will not be thrown down!”

“See, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. Then the Lord you seek will suddenly come to His temple, the Messenger of the covenant you desire—see, He is coming,” says the Lord of Hosts.

I will shake all the nations so that the treasures of all the nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,” says the Lord of Hosts.

Then the Devil took Him to the holy city, had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,

So he took Him to Jerusalem, had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here.

Guided by the Spirit, he entered the temple complex. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform for Him what was customary under the law,

And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were finished, they brought Him up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord

Jesus went into the temple complex and drove out all those buying and selling in the temple. He overturned the money changers' tables and the chairs of those selling doves. And He said to them, "It is written, My house will be called a house of prayer. But you are making it a den of thieves !"

After making a whip out of cords, He drove everyone out of the temple complex with their sheep and oxen. He also poured out the money changers' coins and overturned the tables. He told those who were selling doves, "Get these things out of here! Stop turning My Father's house into a marketplace!" And His disciples remembered that it is written: Zeal for Your house will consume Me.

Every day I was among you, teaching in the temple complex, and you didn’t arrest Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”

The Pharisees and Sadducees approached, and as a test, asked Him to show them a sign from heaven.

Just then an expert in the law stood up to test Him, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

But perceiving their malice, Jesus said, “Why are you testing Me, hypocrites?

But He answered, “It is written:

Man must not live on bread alone
but on every word that comes
from the mouth of God.

Then Jesus told him, “Go away, Satan! For it is written:

Worship the Lord your God,
and serve only Him.

Jesus told him, “It is also written: Do not test the Lord your God.

"Simon, Simon, look out! Satan has asked to sift you like wheat. But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

For since He Himself was tested and has suffered, He is able to help those who are tested.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tested in every way as we are, yet without sin.

Then the Devil left Him, and immediately angels came and began to serve Him.

He was in the wilderness 40 days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels began to serve Him.

And He said, “Abba, Father! All things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”

At that, Jesus said to Peter, “Sheathe your sword! Am I not to drink the cup the Father has given Me?”

“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work,” Jesus told them.

The One who sent Me is with Me. He has not left Me alone, because I always do what pleases Him.”

He got up and departed from there to the region of Tyre and Sidon. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it, but He could not escape notice.

When Jesus left there, He withdrew to the area of Tyre and Sidon.

Jerusalem, Idumea, beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Sidon. The large crowd came to Him because they heard about everything He was doing.

After coming down with them, He stood on a level place with a large crowd of His disciples and a great number of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon.

"Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented in sackcloth and ashes long ago! But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

After we sighted Cyprus, leaving it on the left, we sailed on to Syria and arrived at Tyre, because the ship was to unload its cargo there. So we found some disciples and stayed there seven days. They said to Paul through the Spirit not to go to Jerusalem.

He had been very angry with the Tyrians and Sidonians. Together they presented themselves before him. They won over Blastus, who was in charge of the king’s bedroom, and through him they asked for peace, because their country was supplied with food from the king’s country.

This is eternal life:
that they may know You, the only true God,
and the One You have sent—Jesus Christ.

“This is the most important,” Jesus answered:

Listen, Israel! The Lord our God, the Lord is One.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though He was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich.

I will boast about this person, but not about myself, except of my weaknesses.
