A person who has friends may be harmed by them, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
All the relatives of a poor person hate him; how much more do his friends avoid him -- he pursues them with words, but they do not respond.

Jonathan made a covenant with David, for he loved him as much as he did his own life.

So Jonathan told David, "My father Saul is trying to kill you. So be careful tomorrow morning. Find a hiding place and stay in seclusion.

No one has greater love than this -- that one lays down his life for his friends.
