Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
2 Samuel 14:2
So Joab sent to
Tekoa and brought a wise woman from there and said to her, “Please pretend to be a mourner, and put on mourning garments now, and do not anoint yourself with oil, but be like a woman who has been mourning for the dead many days;
And wine which makes man’s heart glad, So that he may make his face glisten with oil,
food which sustains man’s heart.
clothes be white all the time, and let not oil be lacking on your head.
But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face
Now it came about
on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king’s palace in front of the king’s rooms, and the king was sitting on his royal throne in the throne room, opposite the entrance to the palace.
