and obeyed
אֵלָ֖יו

the leaders ､

and the mighty men ､

בְּנֵ֖י

the sons
הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ

David ､
נָ֣תְנוּ

And the period [was]
אֲשֶׁ֤ר
’ă·šer
מָלַךְ֙
mā·laḵ
עַל־
‘al-
יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
yiś·rā·’êl,
אַרְבָּעִ֖ים
’ar·bā·‘îm
– שָׁנָ֑ה
šā·nāh;
years –
､ בְּחֶבְר֤וֹן
bə·ḥeḇ·rō·wn
in Hebron ､
מָלַךְ֙
mā·laḵ
שֶׁ֣בַע
še·ḇa‘
שָׁנִ֔ים
šā·nîm,
. וּבִירוּשָׁלִַ֥ם
ū·ḇî·rū·šā·lim
and in Jerusalem .
מָלַ֖ךְ
mā·laḵ
שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים
šə·lō·šîm
. וְשָׁלֽוֹשׁ׃
wə·šā·lō·wōš.
and three [years] .

וַיָּ֙מָת֙
way·yā·māṯ
So he died
בְּשֵׂיבָ֣ה
bə·śê·ḇāh
in a old age
､ טוֹבָ֔ה
ṭō·w·ḇāh,
good ､
שְׂבַ֥ע
śə·ḇa‘
､ יָמִ֖ים
yā·mîm
of days ､
､ עֹ֣שֶׁר
‘ō·šer
and riches ､
– וְכָב֑וֹד
wə·ḵā·ḇō·wḏ;
and honor –
וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ
way·yim·lōḵ
שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה
šə·lō·mōh
בְנ֖וֹ
ḇə·nōw
. תַּחְתָּֽיו׃
taḥ·tāw.
in his place .

וְדִבְרֵי֙
