'High Place' in the Bible

So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of meeting of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.

Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of meeting, and reigned over Israel.

And he ordained himself priests for the high places, and for the goat idols, and for the calf idols which he had made.

For he took away the altars of the foreign gods, and the high places, and broke down the images, and cut down the idol poles:

Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

Has not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, You shall worship before one altar, and burn incense upon it?

For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he raised up altars for Baalim, and made idol poles, and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served them.

Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the LORD their God only.
