Verily, verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and cometh not into condemnation, but is passed from death to life.
The infirm man answered him, Sir, I have no man to put me into the bath, when the water is troubled; and while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
Search the scriptures: in them ye think ye have eternal life: and it is they that testify of me.

In these lay a great multitude of diseased, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only broke the sabbath, but also said, that God was his own Father, making himself equal with God.
For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doth: and he will shew him greater works than these, so that ye will marvel.
For neither doth the Father judge any one, but hath given all judgment to the Son:
And therefore the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill him, because he had done these things on the sabbath.
I can do nothing of myself: as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just: because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
For as the Father raiseth and quickeneth the dead, so the Son also quickeneth whom he will.
Jesus seeing him lie, and knowing that he had now been diseased a long time, saith to him, Desirest thou to be made whole?
Now there is in Jerusalem, by the sheep-gate, a bath, which is called in the Hebrew tongue, Bethesda, having five porticos.

For as the Father hath life in himself, so hath he given to the Son also to have life in himself,
That all men may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father that sent him.
And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed and walked: and the same day was the sabbath.
And the Father who hath sent me, he hath testified of me: ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.
How can ye believe, while ye receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that is from God only?
But I have a greater testimony than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to fulfil, the very works which I do, testify of me, that the Father hath sent me.
He was a burning and a shining light, and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
And hath given him authority, to execute judgment likewise, because he is the Son of man.
Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you even Moses, in whom ye trust.
Ye sent to John, and he bare testimony to the truth.
I receive not honour from men, But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
There is another that testifieth of me, and I know that the testimony which he testifieth of me is valid.
But I receive not testimony from man; but these things I say, that ye may be saved.
