Matthew 21:18-22 - A Barren Fig Tree Cursed

Matthew 21:18-22

18 Now in the morning as He was returning to the city, He was hungry; 19 and seeing a fig-tree by the way, He went up to it, and finding nothing upon it but leaves, He saith to it, Let no fruit ever hereafter grow out of thee: and the fig-tree withered immediately.

20 And the disciples seeing it were amazed and said, How suddenly is the fig-tree withered!

21 but Jesus answering said unto them, Verily I tell you, if ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only be able to do this to a fig-tree, but also if ye shall say to this mountain, "Be thou removed and cast into the sea," it shall be done. 22 And all things whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Mark 11:12-14

12 And on the morrow, as they came from Bethany, He was hungry: 13 and seeing a fig-tree at a distance, with leaves, He went to see if He might find any thing upon it; and when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves; (for the time of gathering figs was not yet come:) And Jesus spake and said unto it, 14 Let no one ever eat fruit of thee hereafter. And his disciples heard it.
