Matthew 24:45-51 - A Faithful Slave And An Unfaithful Slave
45 Then who is the faithful and wise servant, whom the lord placed over his household to give them their food in season? 46 Happy is that servant whom, his lord having come, will find so doing. 47 Truly I say unto you, that he will appoint him over all his possessions. 48 But if the wicked servant may say in his heart, 49 My lord delayeth; and may begin to smite his fellow-servants, and eat and drink with the drunken; 50 the lord of that servant will come in a day in which he does not expect, and an hour in which he does not know, 51 and he will cut him off, and will appoint his part with hypocrites: and there shall be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.
41 And Peter said to Him, Lord, do you speak this parable to us, or to all?
42 The Lord said, Who then is the faithful, wise steward, whom the lord will establish over his house-hold, to give them their food in season? 43 Happy is that servant, whom his lord having come shall thus find watching. 44 Truly I say unto you, that he will establish him over all his possessions. 45 But if that servant may say in his heart, my lord delayeth his coming, and may begin to smite the servants and handmaidens, and to eat and drink, and be drunken; 46 the lord of that servant will come in a day in which he does not expect, and in an hour in which he does not know, and will cut him off, and will appoint his part with the unbelievers. 47 But that servant knowing the will of his lord, and not preparing or doing according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But the one not knowing, and doing things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few. But to every one to whom much is given, much will be required of him: and to whom they commit much, of him they will ask the more.
