Matthew 12:22-32 - A House Divided Cannot Stand
22 Then one who had been demon-possessed was brought to Him, blind and dumb. And He healed him, so much so that the blind and dumb one both spoke and saw. 23 And all the people were amazed and said, Is not this the son of David?
24 But when the Pharisees heard, they said, This one does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub the ruler of the demons.
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. And every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. 26 And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand? 27 But if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you. 29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house and spoil his goods, unless first he binds the strong one, and then he will plunder his house. 30 The one who is not with Me is against Me, and the one who does not gather with Me scatters. 31 Therefore I say to you, All kinds of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven to men, but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven to men. 32 And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this world or in the world to come.
20 And again a crowd came together, so that they could not even eat bread. 21 And hearing, those with Him went out to take hold of Him; for they said, He is insane.
22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebub, and He casts out demons by the ruler of the demons.
23 And He called them and said to them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan rises up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.
27 No one can enter into a strong one's house and plunder his goods, except he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house. 28 Truly I say to you, All sins shall be forgiven to the sons of men, and blasphemies with which they shall blaspheme. 29 But he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never shall have forgiveness, but is liable to eternal condemnation. 30 Because they said, He has an unclean spirit.
14 And He was casting out a demon, and it was dumb. And it happened as the demon was going out, the dumb one spoke. And the people marveled. 15 But some of them said, He casts out demons through Beelzebub the chief of the demons. 16 And others, tempting Him, sought a sign from Heaven from him.
17 But knowing their thoughts, He said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. And a house divided against a house falls. 18 If Satan also is divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons through Beelzebub. 19 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 20 But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, no doubt the kingdom of God has come on you. 21 When the strong man, fully armed, guards his dwelling, his goods are in peace. 22 But when one stronger than he comes, he overcomes him. He takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and he distributes his arms. 23 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
