Kings 2:13-18 - Adonijah's Persistence
And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Do you come peacefully? And he said, Peace. 14 And he said, I have a word to say to you. And she said, Speak.
And he said, You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me that I should reign. However, the kingdom is turned around, and has become my brother's. For it was his from Jehovah. 16 And now I ask one favor of you; do not turn away your face. And she said to him, Speak.
And he said, Please speak to Solomon the king, for he will not turn away your face, that he give me Abishag the Shunammite for my wife.
And Bathsheba said, Very well; I will speak for you to the king.
