Matthew 22:41-46 - David's Son And Lord

⁴¹ And the Pharisees being assembled, Jesus asked them, ⁴² saying, What seems to you concerning the Christ? whose son is He? They say to Him, Of David.

⁴³ He says to them, How then does David in the Spirit call Him Lord, saying,

⁴⁴ The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, until I may make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet?

⁴⁵ Then if David calls Him Lord, how is He his son? ⁴⁶ And no one was able to respond a word to Him, neither did any one from that day dare to ask Him anything more.

³⁵ And Jesus responding spoke, teaching in the temple, How do the scribes say that Christ is the son of David? ³⁶ For David himself said in the Holy Spirit, the Lord said unto my Lord; Sit thou on my right hand, until I may make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet!

³⁷ Then David himself calls Him Lord; and whence is He his son? And the great multitude were hearing Him delightfully.

⁴¹ And He said to them; How do they say that the Christ is the son of David? ⁴² And David himself says in the Book of the Psalms, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, ⁴³ until I may make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.

⁴⁴ Therefore David calls Him Lord, and how is He his son?
