Matthew 10:26-33 - Fear God Rather Than People

²⁶ Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. ²⁷ What I tell you in the darkness, speak ye in the light; and what ye hear in the ear, proclaim upon the house-tops. ²⁸ And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. ²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father: ³⁰ but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. ³¹ Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

³² Every one therefore who shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven. ³³ But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

⁴ And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. ⁵ But I will warn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, who after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. ⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two pence? and not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God. ⁷ But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
